Re: Coronavirus

I saw this in the headlines earlier today...

Protests flare in Italian cities against COVID-19 restrictions
https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/protest...tions/46122076

"Protests flared across Italy on Monday against a new round of government restrictions aimed at curbing a resurgent coronavirus, with violence reported in at least two major northern cities, Milan and Turin.

Witnesses said a number of luxury stores, including a Gucci fashion shop, were ransacked in central Turin as crowds of youths took to the streets after nightfall, letting off huge firecrackers and lighting coloured flares."

please, stop that arrogant approach.
if you think, that vaccine works other way, than train human's immune system on specific type of viruses, please provide a proof of that.
this is a discussion, you know
Perhaps if you bothered to actually investigate things rather than adopting the arrogance in the post below to which I was responding I might be prepared to help educate you.

waiting for magic vaccine, which will somehow create herd immunity (which doesnt works)?
good luck with that
But no. Too much trouble to actually find out some real facts, much easier to dismiss "magic vaccine" without having a clue why the development work is targetted to get around that issue.

I have read some of their papers, also listened to a very interesting podcast interview with the main Oxford professor working on the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. Also had a look at the Moderna approach. Have you?

Ohhhh, are you looking for a Peloton? The dh did a run around for me, spoke to Peloton, etc. I was hoping there was a peloton black market running somewhere in Switzerland or the border regions. Maybe if we order in bulk?

Masks outdoors, enforced home office, distance learning for secondary schools and universities.

Maybe restaurant/bar closures, more likely a curfew

No full lockdown yet
Yes, unless they go back to "extraordinary situation" the Federal Council has to consult the cantons and what you write is basically the package that the cantons were given end of last week to review. I don't see that the Federal Council is willing to go there.

Many Italians have had _enough_. Resistance seems to be forming around some poles -- Italy, Germany and Québec.

I was referring to the Fed Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday. It is quite clear that these press conferences with BAG and SECO are pure info events and no measures will be announced there.

It makes absolutely no sense. All the evidence, as weak as is, has shown that masks may only have a minor effect in small enclosed areas.
As posted by a well respected Oxford Uni Professor of Primary Care...

Fortunately, as with the ridiculous quarantine regulations, this will also be unenforceable, so you needn't worry about me complaining about getting fined! If this does indeed come into force tomorrow, I actually see it as a moral obligation to disregard it. Compliance is basically an endorsement of this lunacy
You've displayed many aspects of your personality in this thread, primarlily heightened anxiety, projection and hysteria. Unfortunately, good morals were not amongst them.

I sincerely hope nobody pays the ultimate price for your wilful recklessness.

I suggest you go and read the Sunday Times investigation I posted a few pages back and you'll find that your assessment is wildly inaccurate. UK data has shown that the NHS was never overrun, in fact it never even came close to being at capacity throughout the crisis, it had in fact far more empty beds than normal.
Alas, I live in Switzerland in October 2020 where the confirmed current government figures today are:

Regular beds:
22'183 beds in total – 16'328 are occupied

Intensive care:
1071 beds in total – 725 are occupied.

20'709 tests
28,7% positivity rate
167 hospitalisations
16 deaths
in the last 24 hours.

Hospital bed supply at the current rate of infections and hospitalisations:
15 days left (normal beds)
11 days left (intermediate care)
10 days left (intensive care)

They don’t announce things at the regular Tuesday and Friday press conferences, they’re really just info sessions.

The announcements will come tomorrow.

Now the weather is turning colder and I am starting to wear gloves again does anybody know what the handwashing protocol is then?

There does not seem to be any point in washing my hands when I get home if they were always in gloves.

And what about the gloves? I do not want to wash my gentleman's top-quality black leather gloves several times a day!

Wearing disposable plastic gloves over my gloves seems a bit excessive?
My suggestion, put your quality gloves away for one season. Get yourself several pairs of cheap, warm gloves that you can throw into the wash basket each time you get home, and always wash your hands when you remove them. Alternatively, you could wear cotton liners under your gloves which are available from Bau+Hobby, etc. They're cheap as chips, but you'll still have to find the best way to sterilise your leather gloves. I have to wear them under my gardening gloves due to a latex allergy.

If your prone to dry hands or react to lots of soaps, my recommendation is Le Petit Marseillais lavender oil soap or their olive oil soap. I'm allergic to lots of hand soap products but my skin doesn't dry out with those two. Before bedtime, use Garnier Hand Repair creme (in the red tube). After a lot of trial and error over the last 9mths, that's the regime which works perfectly for me and my pain-in-the-backside sensitive skin.

You could seriously work on trying to improve your basic logic and critical thinking skills, dude.
