Bravo Switzerland, sensible once again, the messaging is clear, people will now adjust their behaviour and the numbers will start to come down (if they haven't already done so!).

You've been wrong most of the time, so nothing new
Your little vendetta agenda (or whatever it is) against me is just plain creepy at this point.

I will therefore be blocking you.

Yeah, those new restrictions aren't good enough. I can only hope that I'm wrong.
You won't be.

Gyms? Any more info?
Currently on bus, 7 people in total, 3 without mask. No real world fines still?
I just called my gym and they said they will still be open...

So basically no real significant measures...look forwards to 10,000 + cases per day next week guys...
What would be appropriate, significant measures for you?

Google translation of 20min ticker:

"Now Alain Berset takes the floor. He emphasizes that drastic measures must now follow in order to reduce corona infections and keep the pandemic under control. The signaling of the BAG posters therefore changed to red."

Are they f'ing kidding us? Am I the only one that is livid at their political cowardliness?

Seriously?

Listening to this press conference I hear a convolution of small rules. I do not hear a clear message. If R0 is still at 1.7 like Berset just said, the "measures" from two weeks ago have had absolutely zero effect.

The message has been clear for weeks and they haven't adjusted yet.

Perhaps it went past you that the new cases today was some 2,000 higher than the previous record and 54% up on last Wednesday?

I fear they will regret leaving restaurants and bars open in the evenings.

It seems the economy has won this round

The situation has quickly got out of control here and basically restuarants and bars are allowed operate as normal

No you're not. Been that way for weeks now. If they had acted when it became clear where we were heading a few weeks ago we wouldn't be in this mess now.

Re: Coronavirus

I have to say that the color coding of restrictions is genius. Helps people identify fast if an office/resto is on board with the latest measures. I also saw on local news yesterday that the local police vigorously checks the compliance in bars/restaurants. I think thanks to that the measures can be as they were announced today...while elsewhere they have to shut down. It is a combination of available ICUs and good system of compliance.

This is what I don't understand. As long as Numbers, esp. Hospitalization is this high, do this economy specialists really think I feel like going out having a jaunty blast in Restaurants and Bars?

They just don't want to close them down to avoid paying reimbursements. Which would be the only right thing to do.

If there are no available ICU beds here in two weeks, the Swiss government will have to blame itself.

Yes I really do! We just won't see the results immediately, but this worked in March and I think now with the numbers rising so fast and the messaging from the State being clear, that people will now take a lot more caution, if they haven't done so already.

Lockdown would be pointless as cases would just rebound. We simply aren't going to get through the winter without a lot of cases or deaths.

That said, I hope its enough to stop hospitals from overflowing. If not its a big miscalculation.
