Interesting approach here from Slovakia - test the entire country (or at least all over 10). Possibly a short to medium way forward for here as well https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-covid-one-day | The following 2 users would like to thank baboon for this useful post:

They also said very clearly that you need to make an appointment - they don't want people to just show up coughing and asking for a test.

I'm very curious to read about their findings, it is a good experiment that not many countries can afford. | Quote: | | | | The defence minister, Jaroslav Naď said on Sunday 2.58 million Slovaks had taken a test on Saturday, and 25,850 or 1% tested positive and must go into quarantine.
I know it's a high number if you look at it through the health system's lenses, but 1% positive of all the people who were tested doesn't sound so terrific...

It looks like that Czech supermarket chains will stop bombarding people's mailboxes with marketing materials, brochures and sales - to deter older customers and retired population from travelling from one store to another, following sales. Instead, the supermarkets might re-open on Sundays again, for more space.

Geneva will start closing down
This Monday, 7:00 p.m. The measures will be active until November 29, to be reassessed.
What measures?
Closure of non essential stores.
Please see link below for exact details.
Bars and restaurants will be closed. (Take-out may continue.)
Hairdressers, barbers and tattooists closed.
Cinemas, museums, concerts, ice rinks, etc. will also be closed.
Etc.

The latter suggests that the measures taken in Geneva could be effective in the canton of Vaud in the coming days" https://www.ge.ch/document/lutte-con...rictes-geneve#

| | Re: Coronavirus | Quote: | | | | | It's not easy to reallocate medical staff. Pediatricians for example are nigh on useless in adult wards and ICU requires an extremely high level of training to be borderline useful, people who are not trained for ICU are worse than useless in an ICU. | | | | |
Exactly what OH said (retired, UCH 1969) - last thing you want in ICU in a crisis, are doctors, nurses or assistants who do not have a clue and get in the way more than anything else.

(Google translation from your link)
The points of sale for food and basic necessities (including for animals) as well as the food markets remain open; pharmacies, drugstores and suppliers of medical aids such as opticians, sellers of hearing aids and orthopedic equipment; essential service and repair shops (bank branches, postal offices, exchange offices, real estate agencies, sales outlets of telecommunications and public transport operators, bookstores, florists, hardware stores, shoemaking, DIY and gardening stores, laundries , sewing workshops, locksmiths, car garages, cycle shops with repair shops); health institutions; company canteens with protection plan. Places of worship can also remain open, however without religious services, with the exception of weddings and funerals, with limitation of participants. These establishments are required to ensure the follow-up of all the planned preventive measures (disinfection with hydroalcoholic gel at the entrance, wearing a mask, maximum number of people). Also open are establishments with free access to the public (gas stations) and outdoor sports facilities, sports centers and cultural establishments, within the limits of authorized activities.

I suppose it is necessary to give a little notice, 7PM tomorrow but I am surprised that Boris has given the Brits until Thursday.
This with a 700 person rave party ongoing in Bristol as well. Anyone want to bet there will be lockdown parties every evening till Thursday?
