I get the feeling there'll be a chain reaction across the cantons as those locked down in one try go to the next, then the next canton shits to prevent this.
Selfishly I just want me gym to stay open .. Knocking myself senseless for an hour each day works wonders for the sanity..

Personally I'd rather be happy and catch covid than be miserable stuck at home and not catch it.

Re: Coronavirus

1000 healthcare workers protested in Bern last Saturday for better working conditions. This is serious, this is the people who takes care of the ill. Burnout is the worst thing can happen to workers, without them all the drugs and machines are useless.

Quote:
The "Alliance Health" of trade unions and professional associations ended its nationwide week of action with the rally on Saturday. Healthcare workers are demanding a wage increase and a corona bonus equal to one month's wages, as well as more rights in the workplace, more say and better protection thanks to collective employment contracts.

I doubt it. Never happened before...Glam GE? In VD?

I think they will rather wait for their chic barbers, bars, restos, gyms, cinemas, tatoo parlors and ladies of the night to safely reopen than to take a train to our canton, merveilleux Vaud. I dunno why?

En plus, people really avoid mingling here, stricly wear masks on the streets, we are hardcore here!

What if Bern needs the cash to buy services and staff at private beds?

I do understand why they want fair conditions, of course. Do they need students to relieve them on night shifts a bit, maybe more than paid overtimes?

Thanks for your wishes! Not that I want to complain, but my diagnosis/surgery/week in hospital/month at home recovering from surgery/five weeks of radiation therapy pretty much exactly aligned with the beginning of the outbreak and the hard confinement (Jan-May), which made the whole process even more difficult as a patient. My 2020 has been pretty crap even without Covid. But the health care I have received has been outstanding.

Now more than ever I deeply appreciate what it means to be at risk, how vulnerable some people are, and what duty we have to protect those who are fragile. It just infuriates me that so many people seem unwilling to make simple voluntary gestures in the interests of the greater public health. Where's the love?
Hang in there, bossie. Most people I know do what they are supposed to do, I don't know anyone who opposes masks and distancing irl. We haven't travelled this year since the pandemic started except for places in CH and I'm not seeing any of these as huge sacrifices and restriction of my personal freedom.

Take everything you see here with a pinch of salt, we're all sorts. I suppose TC et co. need a bit of love too...

Which is great, but if you catch covid, aren't you likely to be even more miserable and stuck at home?

I may be wrong, but I think they were implying something along the lines of "pot calling the kettle black" rather than saying that VD was worse than GE.

well ok then, as long as there's no viral shedding. And given that breathing is back to normal.

Superspreader event with 1000 of them? Aren't health institutions short-staffed for them to protest like that? Police should force them back to work or to their beds to catch up on their sleep, China style, as China apparently is the standard of how Covid should be controlled

On a serious note, yes do take care of our health workers
