If you go through the screening portal via the hospital website, first appt won't be until December
Keep trying ..

My wife is there now, as we speak getting tested..

Monday it showed a 5 day wait, she decided to just hold on, maybe it was nothing.. Checked again Tuesday and got the appointment for today.

Seems to be a moving target.

Hopefully ... only mild symptoms but was in close contact with a confirmed positive.

Apparently the Nyon testing centre is totally empty right now, straight in and out, no queue, nobody there.

I wanted to do the test from last Monday. They informed me that it was fully booked until next week. I had to go there today to collect my child's medical prescription. The placed looked not too busy and I asked why the delay to do my test, funny enough they asked if I would like to do it today? I sure did

Got to tell you.. the funky swap thingee going through the nose was one of the best feelings ever

So the mildly positive message from yesterday is shot down again.

Re: Coronavirus

CHUV (Lausanne university hospital), has posted a video on Twitter aligning cases for the two waves:

https://twitter.com/i/status/1323914871650615296

For the first wave, they set day zero to March 1. For the second, it was October 14.

You see that during the first 16 days, the first wave had more cases than the second, but then the trend is reversed:

On day 21 of the first wave (March 21), CHUV had 145 coronavirus cases. After that, the curve largely flattens and drops slowly.

On day 21 of the second wave (November 3), they had 170 cases. And the curve shows no sign of flattening.

My kids' school closed all the free time sport activities for kids (unihockey etc). I wonder if it' s a decision of our local authorities or is it the same in the whole canton ZH.
My comment was on canton Vaud. No idea about ZH. It also depends on the number of children. I think the rules for Vaud said max 15 in the same room.

Re: Coronavirus

Not sure the contact tracing is working as intended. Just got a message warning of a potential infection on each of the days 17th-22nd October. Then it says avoid contacts for up to 10 days after a possible infection. Well 22nd October is 13 days ago. Hmmmm

Re: Coronavirus

Ongoing bundesrat press conference:

Quote:
The cantons of Friborg, Valais, Geneva, Bern and Jura are at the end of their capacities and have already submitted applications for support. The Federal Council has therefore decided to provide up to 2500 military personnel. The principle of subsidiarity is important: the cantons have to prove that they have exhausted all civilian options before they receive support from the army. “The army is deployed when it is needed,” says Amherd. First and foremost, volunteers in the troops who are trained for operations in the health sector should be used.

Re: Coronavirus

My youngest son already received an sms from the Military last Wednesday asking him to volunteer. He is currently working at UniSpital in Zürich so he didn't take them up on their kind offer. I have a very unpleasant feeling that he might get marched off soon.

Swiss National Bank has been doing this for years (stopped, started it again) by buying useless foreign currency.
Tell us something new?

It's to keep food our tables

Quote:
Analysts at Credit Suisse this week estimated the SNB has sold more than $98bn worth of Swiss francs in the first half of this year alone — the central bank’s most aggressive effort to suppress Switzerland’s currency. The franc rose to a five-year high against the euro in May but has weakened somewhat since then. One euro recently fetched SFr1.078. The SNB said it would more regularly publish data on its interventions, with monthly updates to data on monetary-policy related transactions.....The SNB has repeatedly warned of the dangers of allowing an uncontrolled appreciation of the franc. It does not target a specific price range for the currency, but instead aims to prevent any rapid rise in its value. A sharp rise in value would be devastating for Switzerland’s large manufacturing and export-oriented industries, the SNB believes.

Yes, but he wants to be more agessively due to Corona apparently?

I don't want my savings to be able to buy only half a goat shed. Would you just hold on to cash or try to rush getting a goat shed?
