Yes, but he wants to be more agessively due to Corona apparently?

I don't want my savings to be able to buy only half a goat shed. Would you just hold on to cash or try to rush getting a goat shed?

If you want a Swiss goat shed it won't make a difference. Prices have not reduced at the CHF strengthened as the demand is local & buying power is based on earnings not FX rate.

LOL, you sound so much like some of the journalists asking questions. Only they are not trolling.
Who would have thought I would appreciate Ueli Maurer some day.

As to your goat shed - in Spain was it? - I'd buy it now. And a bunch of goats you can eat when the AHV sent there to you is not as much as you thought it would be.

But if one eats the goats there will be nothing left to milk!

True, economic thinking would be to go vegetarian and keep the goats to keep the lawn orderly and provide milk. Keep from being bored turning it into cheese. Ah and sell it for devalued Swiss Franks as they will still be better than Euros.

I want a goat shed in Spain too now, sounds idyllic. But then there is corona ....

From what I am hearing second hand from people on the ground, ZH hospitals are not struggling in any way because of Corona. Could that be true? Are they just worried that they might start struggling in the future?

It seems that what you heard through the grapevine is correct
The patients mentioned in the article went to Bern, but the situation in Zurich seems to pretty relaxed compared to Geneva/ Vaud.

"The CHUV has started to transfer patients to German-speaking Switzerland
Since Wednesday, the CHUV has been sending patients who may be in hospitals in German-speaking Switzerland not experiencing the same influx. Objective: to anticipate and ensure quality care for the greatest number of patients affected by Covid-19. At the same time, it will continue to increase its reception capacities for future patients."

This is how they will start.. implementing everything at the same time will be a hard hit on the credibility of the government.

Trust me there will be more strict restrictions with time. I think anyone would understand it. Take a look at what other EU countries are doing now

Does your crystal ball see lockdown in Zurich? If yes, then by when?

I think you are correct but hope it is locally driven. Whilst our situation here might not be great it sure isn't as bad as the French bit or Schwyz.

Re: Coronavirus

Weekly numbers from BAG/OFSP.....well, the situation is bad but the trend is less grim that the past week.

https://twitter.com/BAG_OFSP_UFSP/st...92419022708740

On week 42 (12-18 Oct) 20K new cases were confirmed. On week 43 (19-25 Oct) ~40K new cases confirmed.....a scary 100% increase.

By week 44 (26 Oct - 1 Nov) 55465 new cases confirmed. So still growing but only ~38% increase compared to 100% increase the week before.

It would be possible that this week 45 the new cases per day stabilize around 10-12K and start going down by week 46 (9-14 Nov). Hope week 45 is the peak of the 2nd wave

the number of infections is too manipulative number
number of deaths is much more trustworthy
that's basically my point
Deaths reported yesterday up to 73. Trend very sharply upwards. We'll probably be up in the 200s in a couple of weeks - that enough for you?

There are more than 1,000 mink farms in Denmark
As many as 17 million minks are to be culled in Denmark after a mutated version of the coronavirus that can spread to humans was detected on mink farms.

Seems to be some IT issues in reporting cases today. I guess there will be a delay to the usual updates from BAG.
