Re: Coronavirus

A quick update of the situation:
We are advising anyone who has frequent contact with elderly people that have slight flew like symptoms to come to the hospital and get tested.
Even if you have a franchise on your insurance, please come to the hospital.

[Mod edit - this is not in any way official advice from the medical authorities.]

The forecast of the number of infected will be around 100 by this weekend.
Please wash your hands frequently if you use public infrastructures and avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes.

Of course I don't want draconian restrictions but we do seem rather lax..

Will people in Europe / USA accept being told to stay home? Forced to stay home?
The counter culture agitators in the US over the last 50 years have created a victim class with such an intense hatred and distrust of the system that I believe any type of restrictions and quarantine management will be impossible. Particularly in urban areas.

With images of overflowing hospitals and diminished civil services, the amount of crime potential will skyrocket. If you are familiar with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the opportunistic crime and social problems, I suspect it will be pretty much just like that everywhere.

If you are curious about this watch how things develop in Seattle over the next weeks.

Re: Coronavirus

I would advise to use self service tills, then at least every item has not been touched by the cashier who has touched everybody's goods & cash for the last few hours.

At an Airport without the luxury of self checkout.

I know you have opinions on a wide-ranging number of issues, but if you would stop trying to de-rail this thread it would be appreciated. Our members are trying to read and share important information and these types of posts do not help.

Yesterday we already had 93, so where did you find that we'll only be around 100 by this weekend?

Anyway you have spread nonsense before in this topic, I do not see why this post would be any different.

Also your claim to be a doctor does not hold up with what you post, and your call that people should visit hospitals when they have any symptoms is false.

To me you're a troll.

Always call ahead before going to the doctor’s or the emergency department.

No need to touch a touch screen, swipe & go with a credit card. For higher value transactions where a pin no is needed use a tissue on your finger. I always use my own shopping bags when shopping & not a trolly.

Are you asking if the system has some sort of setting? AFAIK it doesn't. If you want mods to delete every post from a particular user every time they post on a particular thread, sorry but you're dreaming. We do have an ignore feature though.

It is an open forum and people can say what they feel, BUT I have a big issue if someone glows in the self-proclaimed halo of being a doctor and then peddles misinformation in these times. We ought to ban.
