Numbers for fri, sat & sun combined are 9809 out of 60 k tests.

327 hospitalisations
176 death

https://www.covid19.admin.ch/fr/overview
Cantons with more than 600 new cases per 100K people on the last 14 days: SO, BL, BS, AG, ZH, SG, TG, AR, GR. https://www.covid19.admin.ch/fr/overview?detTime=14d

I would not be surprised in additional measures are announced just before Christmas for all these cantons.

But Aargau health councilor says there's no need for immediate action. See above:

"There are currently many talks being held with other cantons and also with the federal government, says Government Councilor Jean-Pierre Gallati. The canton of Aargau wants to inform about any further measures on Thursday morning.

One wants to wait and see how other cantons react. The head of the health department is asked whether that doesn't seem a bit passive. “I don't really care how that seems,” says Gallati. One is currently not in an "urgent emergency situation" that requires immediate action"

Surprised to read that. Canton Aargau has 51 out of 55 ICU beds in use. https://icumonitoring.ch/

Strictly speaking, immediate means today. The news you quoted mention a press conference for Thursday morning. However, considering how a wave of cases/deaths is a 6-8 weeks thing, 3 days is immediate. I guess the guy is there because has a much better command of language that me, but the sick people are still there.

Level 5 lockdown came at a huge cost, and made no real difference, by Dr Ciara Kelly

Quote:
Six weeks of Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions saw case numbers fall from roughly 1,200 per day down to 300. What didn't really drop were the cases in ICU.

On October 21 when we entered Level 5 lockdown, there were 34 patients in ICU. On December 1, when we exited, there were 31.

Another fabulously reliable source: an Irish talk show host and former "showbiz" medical general practitioner who nevertheless contracted COVID-19 herself, who apparently doesn't understand that serious COVID-19 patients often require long-term intensive care, and there is a lag between admission to ICU and discharge.

Re: Coronavirus

Some relevant numbers about hotel nights during summer 2020 in Switzerland. Don't worry too much about your favorite spot in Graubunden: hotel stays grew 0.9% compared to 2019. Albeit, business travel is on the ICU: ZH -73%, GE -78% of hotel stays. I guess a lot of things related to the UN in Geneva are done online these days.

Agreed - although I know it won't happen, I would be very happy if we all learned to wear masks on crowded trains like in Japan. I was sick so often my first year of long distance commuting and I know that is where I contracted my illnesses...
I'm burning mine the day my post-vaccination period is over!

I commuted every day on 3 tubes in London for 6 years and was only ill once (2 days off work).

I just don't want to live in fear.

GE starts to open up again. Confirms restraunts will reopen 10 December. Late night dining remains restricted except for new years eve when up til 1 am is authorised. From 23 Dec-3 Jan. family gatherings will be authorised up to 10 persons. However current other restrictions on gatherings up to 5 remain in place.

GE, VD, and other romande cantons open cinémas and théâtres from 19 Dec.

VD increases capacity of testing. (personal comment--not sure what good it does as they gave up on all test, track, and trace months ago when the slightest blip of second wave on horizon)

Looks that way as the press are reporting so. But looking at the actual press release it says, in my best attempt at translation: "discotheques that have authorisations to transform into bars". Not sure if that also includes your normal run of the mill bar or what. Maybe that's how all GE bars are legally known.
There's also some decibel limit on music in restraunts.
