Yes, I am customer facing and yes, my team is customer facing and yes you're wrong (again) and thanks for calling me a "shit boss" without even knowing me.
Then please see the initial apology. As I said, the way you wrote didn't indicate that and honestly in the current circumstances if you weren't the comment would have been valid.

But again apologies.

Russian vaccine: no alcohol for 42 days. Very smart, there's now an excuse for low/zero effectiness in the real world

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKBN28F09O
I think it's no alcohol for 42 days as the vaccine is probably 90% alcohol and 10% miracle water. This is why it is rumored it will be distributed in convenient glass bottles of 750ml each with a twist cap for even easier vaccination

This is how social distancing was been met in one of the SKI resorts and has met with lot of criticism

The first thing they should do before closing stuff down in the cities is shut the damn ski resorts!!
Keeping them open is a selfish and purely financial decision.

Why not let people choose? Switzerland relies on people making their own decisions.

That's generally my way of looking at things - but it seems we have tried and people can give a shit for about 2 or 3 weeks then they stop.

I wish they'd a) stop wasting time and get vaccinating the elderly, and b) shut the restaurants and ski for the short period of time until the 60 plus / 70 plus (depending on risk tolerance) are vaccinated.

Once the old people are vaccinated we can open up fully and permanently but keep masks until we've vaccinated the rest of the adult population.

Re: Coronavirus

I just wonder why the police didn't show up to apply 300 CHF fines to every one. That's literally leaving money on the table

I passed last night by the carwash and saw the police talking to a group of young guys in there. No fines, the guys just drove away after a short talk with the police. I think I'm now officially an old fart, I don't see the point in washing the car, and stay there in the cold to drink redbull and smoke cigarettes with friends.

I was wondering the same thing, but as often happens, there might be some tacit agreement between the canton, police and resorts.

I am not so worried personally about skiing as such (masks, helmets with eye and nose cover, gloves, etc. so this should limit infections more than, say, a tram situation), it's the apres-ski that is really where lots of infections can occur.

I think it is fairly obvious that letting people decide for themselves is not working out.

There are too many people not taking this virus seriously and obviously need the rules to make them take it seriously.

There was an interesting comment yesterday on the weekly Drosten podcast (the German virologist turned pop star) on how he sees next summer:

He expects that the elderly will be vaccinated, the restrictions will be mostly lifted (maybe masks still) and the virus will essentially transmit freely. This will be mostly unproblematic, but he expects that the typical ICU patient by then will look very different compared to now: Not the 78 year old, but a lot of mid age, otherwise apparently non-risk patients who are unlucky to develop a severe case. This may be a small percentage, but once the virus transmits freely, the absolute numbers could be significant.

I don't want to debate now how big/small the risk is for a 40-something year old, but found this an interesting thought.

My intuition says the same, but any further comment on this can be considered as libel/defamation This kind of things only happen on poor countries, not here....well, only the FIFA

there will be no police Christmas party this winter so the funds are not needed.

With by then improving weather and a big herd effect from vaccination you'd hope we'd get on top of cases.

Surely we will all be done by the summer?

At least when I did it (3 times by now) you can cheat on the documents, but they always asked for my insurance card and a phone number (you get the results via SMS)

Why would you want to avoid giving an ID btw? I truly don't believe there's anything sinister in terms of data sharing going on. You certainly enter a statistic as a number, but I don't think anything more happens

Hmmm - you work in pharma am I correct? "Customer facing" can be a rather broad definition in our industry. The only people who should be in the office right now in our industry are lab workers, certain members of the supply chain, a small number of IT staff & people who maintain the site.

You really should not be insisting your employees come into the office just because you think it is the right thing to do. A leader should think of the needs of the staff and not just their own. I am very grateful that my boss does - he continues to go into the office, but respects my need to stay home.

Thank you for your unsolicited advice. Just FYI we are a test-unit and the amount of pre-cautions we've taken, the way we've set-up the office to ensure social distancing and the way we manage our daily work from the moment we come, through coffee breaks, lunch breaks, meetings and leaving the office is worth a novel on it's own. So far, our test has proved quite successful in managing this as for 6 months we've had 0 infections. I certainly hope this will remain the case until year end (when it's over) and I certainly hope this will NOT be the model for the future. Trust me, I've sacrificed quite a lot personally to be part of this and I'll be super glad when it's over.

But as expected, people in this thread throw judgments without even knowing any sort of details and purely based on who posts.
