Actual number of deaths YTD 27 Nov:
2020: 554.919
Avg. 2015-2019: 490.182 https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulat...nglandandwales
But good to read in this "article" you quote that "there is NO 'pandemic' at all"

There's a good chance 2021 and 2022 will look very good for mortality figures though.

| | Re: Coronavirus | Quote: | | | | | UK has the lowest mortality rate since 2014 | | | | | Years have 52 weeks, not 47. The right thing to do would be to wait until March 2021 to compare apples to apples (March 2019-March 2020 Vs March 2020-March 2021).
But we have no patience for that. So, lets compare apples to extrapolated apples 511,883/ (47/52) = 566,283 deaths in 2020 assuming the rate is equal to 2019. Around 10% higher than 2019. We can discuss if the 10% is a lot or not, but higher than 2019 is out of discussion: it's higher.
Please tell us you shared this as a joke. It's good to laugh at stupid things sometimes | This user would like to thank Axa for this useful post: | |

So, in the northern part of Switzerland, we have Basel-Stadt, which closed restaurants and bars a while back, Basel-Land, Solothurn, Zurich and Thurgau are all putting in measures.
Aargau has, however, declared "there is no emergency". Maybe they are planning on inviting the Donald to run the show after he's finished up in the US.

| | Re: Coronavirus | Quote: | | | | | I find it totally unfair that Romandie cantons were very proactive at the beginning of the second wave, closing restaurants and cultural places, successfully reducing contamination; and now that we are ready to open again, we have to pay the price for the Swiss Germans who couldn’t make such decisions without being forced by the Confederation. | | | | | kantonal restrictions are pretty much useless without restriction of movement.

Is the positive percentage rate dropping a sign of more comprehensive testing or any improvement? The numbers seem pretty static but at least we've got beneath the 20+% positive rate.

This is confusing. I don't understand the 7pm logic at all, not for shops and particularly not for restaurants. Also they seem to have not much of a plan for Dec 18.
Chess ...

For some reason, a comparison to Trump and his bold-faced lies springs to mind.

*not fact checked - it was a example.
