Been following this outbreak closely, with interest and sometimes with fear. But to me, the numbers and the way it is spreading has never really made sense to me.

It is possible, even likely that the numbers infected is grossly underestimated, and that most show little or few symptoms. This may explain why, for example, Italy is exporting multiple cases from visits on dates when they were reporting none or few cases themselves.

Researching this opinion brings up similar conclusions, even a local one https://ethz.ch/en/news-and-events/e...-epidemic.html claims, at the time of the study, that the cases are under-reported by between 7 and 33 times, which would reduce the mortality rate substantially (but still dangerous to certain groups)

This is only my opinion, and may be wrong, but something doesn't add up in the way it is spreading to me
The other side of this coin is that if someone died who was not a reported virus case then it would not be recorded as a virus death, especially true for the time period before this virus was identified.

Re: Coronavirus

It appears the numbers of those infected are approaching 100,000.

That would be 0.0013% of the world’s population. And most of those (96+%) survived.

Scary!

And if someone with the virus dies from something else, is that counted as a virus death?

Most deaths are from something else, pneumonia for example.

Is that a fact or a hunch? Yes, so we are now 103,000 the comparison is still valid.

I haven't seen the media conference yet, but bought Ethanol 70% at a pharmacy a few weeks ago for cleaning purposes, and have since bought glycerin on the advice of another pharmacist.

I don't know but am guessing that depends on the reporting system of the country concerned

I know that in the UK, contagious diseases are reported. I queried my mum's death certificate with the hospital because she'd initially been admitted with pneumonia but had recovered and been discharged, only to be readmitted a 4 days later with C. Difficile which is highly contagious and required isolation. The cert said, Primary cause of death: septicaemia, renal failure. Secondary: Diabetes, non-hodgkin's lymphoma, C. Difficile. The hospital assured me that all contagious diseases are reported even if they're not the primary cause of death, and that both the initial pneumonia and C. Difficile had been reported.

Google isopropyl Alkohol or ethanol Schweiz, many online stores come up, or try pharmacies/bau und hobby... mix it with water yourself 7:3 into a spray bottle.
