Saw a pop up Corona test tent for the first time outside an Apotheke in ZH. No appointment was required.
They had divided the area into two parts, "With symptoms" and "Without Symptoms". Only saw two friends debating if they should get the test or not.

One of those tents popped up outside the apotheke in our village last month, but it requires an appointment to be made online in advance. I think they're only doing rapid tests there (which makes me a bit nervous, because I worry about false negatives with rapid tests).

The TopPharm Europaalle has Corona testing set up outside the pharmacy in a little hut. They do the rapid and PCR tests.
Testing is initially by appointment only, but they are also testing symptomatic people who show up by working them in between set appointments. Things may have changed, but dh and I were tested there on Thursday.

I was just passing by, was 5mins walk from Hardbrucke Bahnhof. Searched for the exact location online and found it- http://www.apodoc.ch/en/2020/11/23/corona-testing-tent/
Better to make an appointment to be safe, but it clearly had an A4 paper saying that you could walk in without any appointment | The following 2 users would like to thank Talk to you later for this useful post:

Hmmm - the numbers today aren't very good - not much off from last week (4275) and we know that the tests must be down due to the holiday period. What gives?
4197 new cases & 131 new deaths. I wonder why they didn't provide the number of tests conducted? https://www.20min.ch/story/bag-zahle...h-985864671360 | The following 2 users would like to thank Susie-Q for this useful post:

Tested positive yesterday- after having symptoms since the 23rd. Truly thought it was just a bad cold- but then realised on Xmas day that I could not smell or taste anything.
And that is the stupid thing about it all- the ONLY good thing about not being able to spend Christmas with grandkids, was I would not catch a cold. We have not seen anyone since last Monday when we went to France to do a big shop in HyperU. Gel, mask, more gel, wash hands on return, etc. Grrrrr
Thank goodness I more or less isolated from OH, who is seriously at risk, from the start, just in case. Wish now I would have used separate bedroom- instead of just separating beds, and separate kitchen and bathroom- but - it is what it is. Think that if he would have caught it, he would have done by now.
Skin rash was defo on the questionnaire though.

When can your OH get vaccinated?

no worries, thanks. For me, just a bad cold and loss of smell.
Only did test to protect others, and as my much older brother was supposed to come for New Year. Officially, I only have to isolate till tomorrow as have been isolating since last Monday- but will continue to do so until all symptoms gone.
Freezer full, great neighbours, and my little EF angels looking after us so well.

Just found out my colleague/good friend from 3m away has tested positive, and he's properly ill as well.
Yay self-isolation for the next 10 days. | This user would like to thank bossie for this useful post:

For the record, we do have mandatory work-from-home when possible, but I have a hands-on position and am amongst the few percent who still need to be physically present on a regular basis. Otherwise it's at least 90% WFH.
That being said, our mask-wearing and distancing policies are so stringent I hope I've not contracted COVID from my colleague. But I guess only time will tell...

Eastern European News - a shocking jump from 4000 cases yesterday in CZ to 10000 today.
Christmas reuniting people taking its toll I think and the fact that people waited to get tested.
3rd wave while the country hasn't gotten out of the 2nd wave lockdown yet, really.
