When, back from work...

...I shut the door, see this big empty house, the cat bowl that will never be used again (I haven't had the heart to get rid of it, yet), the empty kids' bedrooms with all their mess they left when they were last here, and I try and sum up some energy to cook dinner for one...I open the window onto EF and, despite what everybody says on virtual friends, unreal socialising etc., well, I do pick up and feel better.

So, despite some recent departures from the forum, I want to say THANK YOU EF, because for some of us, it is still a little ray of hope and it does break the loneliness feeling (for a while).

Prost!

No pizza delivery on top of your remote mountain!?

Maybe it is time to go and lurk at the bus stop again; but no kilt in this wind?

Questions:

- are pizzas compatible with heartburns?
- is bus stop lurking compatible with heartaches?

I think it's international.

Minus the heartburn. Except when I overdo marmite.

Oh geeeeee...Stop lurking and start googling Valentine Day singles parties! And we are expecting reports.

If everything fails, we need decent tenors for Puccini.

Not at all, but it warms the cockles of my heart to know that despite the thin veneer of civilization that we from our islands attempt to maintain and all our differences that we have something in common when it comes to quenching our thirst

I find that distilled spirits do NOT give heartburn.

then this is what I suggest you add, as one more option, to whatever else you could do for the evening.

Pause for a while and go and stand in front of a mirror, and look yourself squarely in the eye, and say:
  • I am a good father. I love my daughter.
  • I really went out there with my rainbow bracelet and talked to people.
  • My daughter knows, (and so too do my other children, and at least some of their their friends, and perhaps the parents of their friends, and others whom I may influence) that I believe with all my heart that each person is allowed to be themselves.
  • I defend my children's rights to love whomever they choose.
  • I'm not perfect, and nobody is, and I've made mistakes, as all parents do.
  • But I have reason to be proud that I've made sure that my children, as they go out into their adult lives, know, deep in their hearts, that I am on their side, and that my home and my heart will always be a safe place to visit.

Oh for goodness sake, the next time a Swiss lady asks you for a second helping of Haggis, offers you a lift in the rain, asks you if you usually wear a kilt, catches your ferrets for you, do something about it !!
We’re all rooting for you 😊

A lady caught the ferrets for him in the end? And why did he not report that back in detail?
