Re: Things to do/see in Zurich

Looking at the OP, probably a bit late.

On one of my German courses, we were given some names of famous people of which there are status of them dotted arouond the city.

I did a google search and came across this:

http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Sw...ce/sights.html

Search was for: famous statues Zurich

maybe help others in future.

Things to do/visit in Zurich

Hey guys,
Do you know of any cool places to visit/Things to do in or around Zurich? Yelp/Mahalo.. etc don't give any good suggestions. I am looking for a diverse set of things to do like museums, hot air balloon rides, skiing... etc.

I will try to compile a list and post it later (Giving credits where credit is due of course). Your help is sincerely appreciated

There are loads of things listed and described here:

...including skiing and lots of other different things.

When I make it to Zurich, I'm going to have a ride on the FONDUE TRAM!

Yumbo.

Re: Things to do/visit in Zurich

What about this brilliant suggestion I discovered some time back.

Sorry about that, but I have been longing to put that link into a post ever since I found it.

Quite honestly, there are so many things to do in and around Zürich, some recommended on the Forum already, that I really think you either have to decide what sort of events appeal to you and simply Google the appropriate words, look through Day Trips etc. in the Forum or else try 'Things to do in Zürich' to start yourself off. One thing will lead to another and you'll spend the next ten years working through the list.

Happy hunting and have fun.

Re: Things to do/visit in Zurich

There's the Zurich tourism site, of course:

http://www.zuerich.com/de/welcome.cfm

Just select 'EN' in the top right corner for English

Re: Things to do/see in Zurich

Yes - just go to either the main station (Hauptbahnhof) or at the large kiosk in the middle of the Paradeplatz and you'll find most international (not only English) newspapers

Traveling from Lugano to Zurich for one night (Sept. 27) with two kids and a baby. Should we train or drive into city? And, what hotel recommendations does anyone have (moderate three to four star)? Any advice for fun with family that date?

Cheers!
Zurich zoo would be a good option for the whole family, young or old

Afternoon sightseeings in Zürich

My mom is arriving tomorrow for a visit, and she stays until next Sunday. Unfortunately I have to work during the week, so I'll have every day from ~16.30 until late to do something + a free weekend to go wherever.

As I just arrived myself too, I made some walks in the parks and seen the Fraumünster, but that's all about it it would be a huge help if you could help me collecting some tips for afternoon sightseeings or things to do in and around Zürich from 5pm onwards. I'll start digging books/websites as well, but personal recommendation is always more useful.
