Starts dropping slowly after roughly 30 if I'm not mistaken. Meaning her prime is prior to this.

Yes. That's why some women conceive faster with younger partners. They adapted too. Evolution.

You're mistaken. Prime may be until early 30s but there's no dramatic difference to c.38. YMMV.

Right, and this is why many men are naturally attracted to women in their 20's - early 30's.

I don't think it's their reproductive capability that's attracting the older men.

I'm reminded of the question famously posed to Debbie McGee by Mrs Merton...

I think this is relevant. In my experience and from what I have read...

True.

I don’t think older men are genuinely interested in conceiving children for the most part . But being able to turn up with a trophy bride sure helps settle scores among their peers.

I knew a guy in his late 70 ies who had a bit of a reputation of being a bit of a loser. Until he presented his 30 something girlfriend and all of a sudden his friends of his age were drooling over him. Not over her . People can be strange

Not on a conscious level, but otherwise yeah, it is.

Same way men don't think 'wow, check out those child-bearing hips' yet it attracts them nonetheless.

Yup and it is old news. Japan has started to produce young women odor perfumes (to smell like young, it feels creepy to me a tad) some time ago. Well, I am not sure what fetishism has to do with real attraction and to what extent status and freshness, fitness influence us. But smell is defo there. Confidence..happiness. Maybe OP was too happy with herself for her dates, lol. Here comes the "neediness" she mentioned.

I can't remember who said that the tragedy of the middle class is that people end up not with whom they fall in love with, but they'll fall in love with who needs them the most. Makes them feel useful and compensates for some self worth issues. Duh.

This weather is crap. And everything smells like disinfection. Unsexy.

Women can reproduce very well until their early 40s, possible until early 50s? Can you please provide a link to a scientific or medical source for that eye-brow-raising, nature-defying statement?

If it's evolutionary for a male to search for the best mate for reproducing then wouldn't they also search for a female who was in her reproductive prime?
What we have in this thread are responses mostly from women in the upper age ranges, many with children, some single and separated/divorced. Take them with a pinch of salt when it comes to objectivity and factual accuracy.

I can also try to do that later, but for the moment I will only tell you that I have a few friends who gave birth to their kids in their forties (early forties, but have heard of older mums too). I don't say women should postpone maternity up to this age, but it is not impossible. One is not "doomed" or something.

I know lots of women who have had children in their early forties and had no problems at all conceiving.
My grandmother was 48 when she had my father, not trying to get pregnant at all and would rather not have had another child but it happened all the same. It is not the norm but it is not that uncommon either.
There is a reason why women are advised to continue using contraception for two years after they have gone through the menopause.

I try not to read more into those few, rather laconic lines that opened this thread, but she seemed to imply that she thinks that Swiss men run away from successful women like her and prefer the companionship of poorer or less educated women. I didn't get that happiness vibe at all. Maybe a tad of over-confidence and some snobbishness, but nope, nothing more than that.
Maybe she'll come back and shed some light here? I wouldn't expect it.
I suppose OP equates diplomas with education and less money with neediness. Each to their own, but assuming OP is for real I think her problem is not the PhD and the money, she should look somewhere else. Maybe that smell, who knows.

Re: Swiss men and dating

OMG we can go around in circles quoting studies, statistics, history, wikipedia, old wives tails, CNN ..blah blah blah ..can someone please start talking about their PhD and get me the hell outta here!

The generalisations are one thing, but none of this is relevant to us as individuals. I see many couples that don't fit the mould...older women with younger guys, tall chicks with short guys, mixed race, same sex, tatooed with amputees. But the thing I've noticed about these couples generally is they are happy and connected. They might not get you, and you might not get them, but they get each other...reproducing or otherwise. So what else matters?

And with that...I depart this thread. :-)

Here‘s an article from the guardian....mostly famous people having kids....

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeands...births-soaring

As for medical lit, you‘ll have to google. But I can tell you that many academic medical centers, for, love to treat advanced maternal age patients....it‘s interesting research and an accomplishment on their part.

When I was 46, and had not yet gone through menopause my new US gyn was all excited that I too could have a baby. I said thanks, but no thanks.

If anyone remembers disgraced US senator and VP candidate John Edwards, his wife Elizabeth gave birth at 48 and 51.
