Bedding Needed!

Good evening EF!

I arrived in St Gallen on Tuesday and I've been staying in a hotel that I am checking out of tomorrow.

I will be moving into my new flat and I was expecting the removals van to be arriving tomorrow.

The removals van will now not arrive until the 25th March (hopefully!).

Can someone tell me where I can buy some bedding in the meantime. A duvet (or blankets), a pillow and some sort of mattress will suffice!

I have seen in Aldi there are cushions for deck chairs, that may well do until my things arrive.

All help is very welcome and much appreciated.

Kind thanks,
Ian.

If you have a car there are some EF'ers looking to get rid of all their stuff. Else if stores are closed of have such section locked of, you might want to look on tutti or FB is somebody wants to get rid of a couch in your neighbourhood.

Re: Bedding Needed!

Welcome!

Here's tutti, in St Gallen, for under Fr. 100. You can set your own filters.
https://www.tutti.ch/de/li/st-gallen...?pe=100&q=bett

and here tutti, St Gallen, for free:
https://www.tutti.ch/de/li/st-gallen...?pe=100&q=bett

and if you find one that can be dismantled, then you can buy one of these:
https://www.tutti.ch/de/vi/st-gallen...aufen/26385006
and it's surprising how much one can transport, if it's all strapped on well, by public transport.

If you don't have rope, then you can cut an old T-shirt into strips of about 5 to 10cm wide, and that can make a very good band to tie up the lot. Put a piece of cardboard on the base of the trolley to stop things slipping out.

Some sellers will deliver for a fee, but this is not the common way of doing things here.

And: you might find something here, too. All these items are always for free only.

Re: Bedding Needed!

Are you with a car, or with public transportation? I am glad to put together some things for you and leave them in a bag for you. I have a single mattress, as well. Send me a message. I am in Pfäffikon SZ

Re: Bedding Needed!

If you'd consider an inflatable "luftmattress" for a temporary bed, it looks like Galaxus.ch has a large assortment of them with fast shipping (although it does say that they're rather overloaded right now and it could take a few days longer than normal). So maybe there are some other sites that aren't overloaded and would have faster shipping.

e.g. https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s14/produc...tagIds=99-1208

Looks like they have some bedding as well.

If you end up being completely stuck and can't find anything, send me a private message through here and I might be able to help you out with something if you can make it to Greifensee to pick it up.
Good luck!

Re: Bedding Needed!

Oh gosh, thank you Pancakes and arrow. I really appreciate the offers.

I think if it came to it, I could borrow some bedding from the hotel I am currently staying in.

As long as I can get the basics, I should be able to survive until Wednesday. A blanket and pillow is all I really need.

Althogh, A UK to Swiss power adaptor would be welcome!

Thank you all for the offers.

Try the Migros. Or a kiosk at the train station.

Re: Bedding Needed!

You can order it from any of the big stores that deliver, which is most of them and growing every day. Migros, Manor come to mind, but also just got a message from IKEA that they deliver too. Many with next day delivery.
