I'm confused. I've taken 20 or so flights per year for the last 35 without ever taking my permit. Is this a requirement? I'm now Swiss, so a belated question😉
Yes! If you are EU they normally don't ask for it. But if you don't have it and then want it for any reason, then you are in trouble...... like now!

Ok,

You should stay in the UK. Go somewhere remote where you might be able to get medical treatment for the Coronvirus-19 you now have. Seriously ...

Did you know there was a pandemic going on right now and countries all over the world are telling people to stay at home... and you do what... go get on an airplane with a bunch of other zombies cause you got some vacation time to burn...

Stay there? Don't come back.

Perhaps you could try a little harder to be even more rude and uncaring!

OP posted this on 21st March and so may have flown out on 14th March, well before the lockdown started. We don't know anything about him or his circumstances. Perhaps the holiday from work was to go and visit family and he felt the need to check on elderly relatives, Perhaps he also has family who need him here. Perhaps he was able to return days ago and is safely back at home

And I am also certain that OP thanks you sincerely for your informed medical diagnosis that he has the virus

Hi

I took a quick flight back to the Uk for a week as I had holiday time booked and everything is in lockdown, but in my rush forgot my B Permit.

I happen to have a letter from the Rav as I need to be back for the 1st April for my first interview, so will this do, with an emailed rental contract, job contract?

If not, what next?
Are you sure this interview at RAV will take place? I would call them. Won't solve your problem but give you a bit more time to sort it.

Currently there is no personal contact possible to the RAV, everything is done via Phone or email.
You don` t have to supply any proof of applications until the corona mayhem has come to an end.

Thank you for this post. It helped to remind me to reduce my use of fora when tired.

You think courriers accept passports from the UK to Switzerland but not from Switzerland to the UK?

The original list by nyonnais specified that courriers don’t accept passports and that is clearly not the case as they are always sent by courrier from the UK passport office. I should maybe have quoted nyonnais’ post in my reply as that was what I was referring to.
Things keep changing, I think. I had to send my passport to the Canadian Embassy in Paris and was refused by every courier company at that time. I was clearly told that passports and medicines were not acceptable by courier.

I didn't know that.

Swiss Post does allow passports to be posted. Mine took 3 working days to get to the UK using their recommande service.
I think Swiss Post will be a different issue. They dont come under the category of a courier company?
Last year in August, have received my passport back from the US embassy in Bern by Swiss Post (registered post).

Did you tell RAV you were going to leave the country? Normally once you know you will become unemployed you have to straight away start looking for a new job. If you left CH without the permission of RAV, you could have a problem. It depends a lot on your RAV advisor but in theory they could completely stop all unemployment money.

Re: Flew out without my B Permit!

I was in the exact same situation last Sunday. I have left my B permit in my flat and travelled with the UK passport. At the airport the staff would not board me without the physical permit, and the photo on my phone was not enough. They called some who was on the line with the immigration and they confirmed only physical permit in my hand will work. As everyone boarded, there was still a guy from London who was coming to an antenatal appointment to his Swiss girlfriend and who had a little daughter in Switzerland, but no permit. The Swiss Air stuff called someone who was on the line with immigration again, they said they have to have all his paper work (copy of the appointment letter etc) faced to them and they will make a call. That was not feasible in the short time before the plane had to leave, but I managed to beg the guy to run me with immigration as they had them on the phone. They did that, I got a green light and I managed to fly back. But that was a close one and the Swiss Air stuff told they have turned around multiple people with the same predicament away. So I would suggest a photocopy is not a guarantee and you will struggle without the actual permit. Have it couriered?

Re: Flew out without my B Permit!

If one labels an envelope as ‘documents’ any courier company would accept it.

If you label it as passport their rules require them to reject it.

BTW we haven’t heard from the OP for some time, I wonder what actually happened?
