Alternative to Swiss Post for parcel to UK?

As of today, Swiss Post no longer accepting packages over 2kg (or 5kg, can't remember) requiring signature to UK (among others). Drat, ebay sale, 10kg packed and paid for but now I can't ship it

Any alternative(s) that don't cost arm/leg/shirt off back?

Cheers,
auto

Is it only items over 2kg requiring a signature they won't accept? If this is the case can you agree with the purchaser to send it without signature at their risk?

Hi Large,
Not really, paid for with PayPal (no choice); unscrupulous buyer can simply say "Item not delivered" and - with no delivery/tracking confirmation - ebay will always side with the buyer, and PayPal will always refund them.

Post Office actually rang me yesterday after initially taking the parcel, I had to go back and collect it and get my CHF46 refunded. Not 100% clear if this is due to restrictions at UK end, or CH...

Cheers,

Re: Alternative to Swiss Post for parcel to UK - useful info

just had a chat with a courier in UK who advised that although there's some backlog items are still being delivered, with verbal signature being accepted from kerbside.

However, because of the backlog, some drivers are less likely to attempt delivery to commercial addresses, given that most businesses are supposed to be closed.

He suggested sending to residential addresses if possible, or - if business address is required - to label with a named person rather than just a company name.
