| | The April Attitude of Gratitude
New times, great old idea, here we go:
I am grateful for the simplest things, for my family and friends, for how well my students adjusted, for teachers I know doing a fantastic job, for how well this place is dealing with hardships, for our community of people who care. It is beautiful weather, the birds are going crazy, we are happy even without a balcony. When we clap hands at 9pm, people talk to eachother.
What are you thankful for today?

I am grateful to be stuck in our lovely apartment filled with the people and animals I love most, guitars, library of books to read, a full pantry, booze cabinet, refrigerator and freezer. We are so lucky! Oh yes, and not having to commute 3 hours everyday to a job I don't even like.
Good idea to bring it back, we need this right now.

Grateful for Facetime....allowed me to see my loved ones and talk to them!
I miss hugging my people, cooking posh-nosh for them and have a grand time all round. Looking forward to the times, when I can invite my parents and kids again or go to see them!
Meanwhile, I am thankful none of my loved ones have caught the dastardly bug and I hope it stays that way!

I love that I am not travelling and having dinner with the family every night, also getting time on exercise. I appreciate i am in a house in Switzerland, we have space for the kids, and a great view to enjoy. Worst places in the world to be confined.
and I really appreciate i work for a company that is committed to keeping us employed through these times.

Do you also feel like we are reaching out more to people via videotalk and creating new, better communication habits? I do. Kids do as well, having chill time talking to their buddies while at school times they do not have the time to schedule regular talks in.
I forgot to say, I am grateful for my job, despite working so much now and at odd hours, it is stable. There is so much uncertainty around, I feel for people.

Family and Friends are the most important and most valued thing I have in life!
Usually we meet up often IRL and then talk 1:1....now the isolating takes this away.
It is quite different for me the Deafie, I can not make phone calls and facetime is the next best thing to meeting up IRL, tho' lipreading from a tiny screen takes some getting used to and it is trickier than talking 'in real' with someone.

If one has to be quarantined or locked-down anywhere in the world, one cant ask for a better place than Switzerland. In my area, people follow instructions, keep distances. There are lovely woods and streams nearby. I can take a walk early in the morning or late in the evening to get some fresh air. We are blessed with reasonably good health, a loving family and escpecially grown up children who keep assuring us repeatedly not to worry about anything at all, including the finances.

Had phone fright since I was a child and the invention of the text message was one of the best things in the world to happen to my social life. On the phone or through video conference, unless I really know you, I completely freeze. Really dislike that about myself...now would be a good time to practice being better at it.

I'm grateful for having nice local places to walk at the moment, although I tend to go out later in the evening as there are not so many people around.
Grateful everyone I know back in the UK is managing to stay well and remain cheerful.
Also grateful for my OH who is classed as a key worker in his company and is working hard from home most days.

Only downside is that I seem to be spending more time "at work" .. Usually I enjoy my travel time, 1.5 hours watching crap on youtube. Now I roll out of bed and into my office and login still my panties.

I'm grateful I'm in Switzerland, have a job suitable that I can work from home, I haven't died, and on a more down to earth point that the weather has been so good.
On a personal level this month has been pretty painless. My baby girl is stuck back in the uk with her mum and I'm missing them but looking forward to welcoming them to Switzerland shortly. I hope it'll be before mid June (current end of CH restrictions), but we'll survive if it is.

so grateful my grandson and daughter have got over being quite ill, probably with Covid19, but no tests available for them (UK) - and grateful for space, and a garden. Loving watching Spring wake up, birds arriving from Africa and their antics and song. Enjoying rustling up meals with bits and bobs, all the out of date stuff and finally getting to parts of the freezer I'd lost sight off...
my man with his new beard and longer hair- coffee with neighbours over the fence ... all small things - wonderful- grateful.

I am now learning to use a presentation platform to deliver a five day class to a varied audience. I was quite apprehensive at first but am getting better with every practice session | The following 2 users would like to thank Nyonais for this useful post: | |
