My German is somewhat limited but I recognised the Viagra Galaxy, which is not a Galaxy I've been travelling to and, to my great relief, I do not feel the need to either! Phew.

Well, right around the time when Corona was ravaging through Switzerland, they decided the most sensible thing, they made it available over the counter and therefore ensured that the high-risk demography stayed at home.

Re: He's back!

It's someone special's birthday on the forum today (not mine), so here's the suggested virtual menu that I shall have, regardless:

lunch: Scallops flambé in Gin, to be consumed with a G&T (Gin from Edinburgh Holyrood Distillery) with leek purée, followed by nice local lamb chops with rosemary and Gratin Dauphinois, Raspberry bavarois (from the village bakery) for pudding...with a candle, of course!

Tonight, keep it light: Spring Greens Risotto: risotto with braised fennel in white wine, courgettes and asparagus.

Needless to say, this is not Zurirollt who will be enjoying lunch with me!

Re: He's back!

Damn, one of the neighbours is down with Covid 19 (tested positive)! Thank God we respected all the safety measures, but she's the one who did all my shopping while I was (still am) high risk, so I cannot help but feel guilty.

I have been cooking all her meals for the last 3 days, the very least I can do, and keeping checking on her via texting at regular intervals till about midnight. What else would you do for your neighbour?

I don’t think there’s much more you can do since you’ve already got all bases covered.
You could maybe arrange for a chocolate, cake, flower, cheese or some other delivery for her to brighten up her day. Something that you know she likes and would be a treat for her.

Does she have all the numbers she needs? Her GP, a local pulmonologist, ambulance? Get the numbers that she has for her family in case things get hectic and she has no time..have her check her temps often. She has to hydrate a lot, too.

Send her you tube movie links? Nothing about disease.

I am sorry to hear, McT. Disinfect your doorway and doors, handles, keep your shoes outside in a bag. Check in with us here, periodically.

Re: He's back!

How to give the ladies a culinary orgasm? Well, with one neighbour down with Covid 19 and the other with utter fear that she's going to catch it, it's been up to vulnerable me to keep them entertained, cheering up and not sinking into despair.
I have been cooking them meals (including the non-Covid sick one, simply because she cannot cope with much at the moment), and I did them today the simplest, easiest dish to do, which shows sometimes keeping it simple is THE recipe for success:

Pre-heat oven 190C .Take one aubergine, slice it in half. Sprinkle some olive oil, coarse salt and thyme + oregano (better fresh, but dry can do). Slice some Feta cheese, put it on top and repeat the oil, thyme and oregano with a good dose of black pepper. 25 minutes in the oven until aubergine is soft...et voilà! Fast food that brought me a LOT of (virtual) gratitude!

Nah, you don't want to fall into the "nice guy" role. Nice guys get friend-zoned faster than you can say Glenlivet.

And no, Lost Inbroad, I did not have any spare aubergine (eggplant for you!) to find any other creative use to keep my neighbours' spirits up!

You're one sick and twisted person McT, using eggplant for such a thing. Everybody knows that watermelon works best.

You do know what the aubergine is a euphemism for these days don’t you?
