Shipping To Bulgaria

Hi all,
I bought something on ebay (spare part for the car) and it was the wrong one.
Now they said that I can send it back to Bulgaria, where it was shipped originally from. I am checking prices on post.ch and I see that, even for a letter, the cost is 61 CHF???
Am I doing something wrong here? I checked other countries in EU and prices are all the same: 1.40 for letters and 9 for small packages.
What's with shipping to Bulgaria?

It's the same for some other European countries like Romania.

Basically there's no 'normal' service to these countries due to the lock-downs.

I bet La Poste is just passing this on to a courier who is charging what they want.

You would do better trying a private courier.

No, prices seem to be decent for other countries/Romania. OP is right.

No clue what you are looking at or what otherwise would be happening on their website, but I do get 61,- for a normal letter to Romania.

You're writing tosh.

It's 61 to Romania too. It's 98CHF for a letter to Peru.

It even tells you why. For Romania, for example:

Transport restrictions
Letters and PostPac International PRIORITY / ECONOMY: Due to the lack of transport capacity, postal traffic is suspended until further notice.
