| | Price of the water, gas, electricity, and heating
I am a single person that will be living in Switzerland. Does anyone know more or less what a single person must pay monthly for the water, gas, electricity, and heating?
I know that this depends on the living style, but I just want to have a rough idea.
Thanks,

A lot, after all TIS, This is Switzerland.
A little more information would help answer your question. Some apartments will include these costs in the rent, if you are buying a villa they willbe on top.

usually electricity is billed direct to the customer, water, heating is included in the rent.

Thanks, | | | | | In most cases a non-issue, i.e. nothing significant over the year, compared to other expenses.
And as others have said, certain utilities are already part of your rent+nebenkosten.
Probably at most a couple of hundreds extra, but as usual - "it depends".
I think I pay something around 80CHF quarterly to IWB (Basel), but sometimes also get some refunded.

A kWh of electricity is roughly CHF 0.20. A single person will use around 2500 kWh per year.
A m^3 of Water is roughly CHF 2.50 to 5.50 (fresh water and waste water combined). A single person uses around 145 l/day.
100 liter of oil? Depends on the price of oil. Currently it is around CHF 65 for 100 liter of oil. An 80 sqm flat needs around 1500 liters (that's ~16000 kWh).
Gas? Around CHF 0.8/kWh.
That is around CHF 150 per Month. Plus maintenance fees, garbage disposal fees, care taker services, gardening maintenance ... but you did not ask for those.

Thanks, | | | | | If you are single and assuming a general living standard with an apartment of 50m2, expect to pay around 40-50 CHF per month for electricity. The invoice will be sent in your name.
Water and heating may be included in the rental value depending on the type of property. Expect around CHF 100 for both.
Cheers

We are at around 1350/year for electric.
Was around 900 until my daughter decided that 4 1/2 years in the US was 4 years too long.
