How to get [TBE] vaccination

Hi,
I was considering idea of TBE vaccination (ticks).

How does vaccination work in Zurich/Switzerland? Should I go to some doctor, or can I just buy it at any pharmacy?

Thank you

Re: How to get vaccination

Depending on the Canton some pharmacies are authorised to give the vaccination. If not you will need to schedule an appointment with a Dr. In such case they might ask you to pick up the vaccine at a pharmacy. They will give you a prescription for this.

I just went to my GP. You need 3 shots over about 6 months.

It depends on the canton. In some canton only the doctor can do it, in some cantons you would need a prescription if you want to get it done in a pharmacy, and in some you can go directly to the pharmacy.

In canton Zurich the pharmacies can provide TBE vaccination and flu shots directly, w/o doctors prescription. Hep A and B only as followups. You can find a pharmacy which offers TBE vaccination here https://impfapotheke.ch/kantone/zuerich.html.
In German TBE is known as FSME https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/de/home...lick/fsme.html

Re: How to get vaccination

Like "Island Monkey," I also received mine at my regular doctor's office. A series of 3 shots over 6 months or so.

One tip: Cough hard just as the doctor is putting the needle in. It causes you to not feel it at all. This can be done whenever the needle goes into muscle (not a vein). My doctor had told me this tip before she gave me the first shot, and it really worked. I didn't feel a thing. Good for kids who are afraid of immunization shots, too.

That's a good tip, thank you.
But I suppose that if I do it now, the doctor wouldn't be happy, due to CoVID
