Renting a second flat near workplace

I'm already renting a family flat in canton A and soon I'm going to rent also a small studio flat closer to my workplace in canton B (which is too far to commute daily). I'll keep my fiscal residence in canton A. Do I have to pay cantonal taxes also in canton B (e.g. for garbage collection etc.)? Thanks for any help.

I guess you pay taxes where you are officially registered. If you stay there less than 50% of your time tho, the local authorities may ask you to register there where you spend more time, but I don't know if this is really verifiable and enforceable if you rent two places simultaneously. Regarding garbage, it is priced in your garbage sacks and rest in rent.

No.

You need to register in the 2nd commune as "Wochenaufenthalter" (résident hebdomadaire?) and that's it (at least for a Swiss). You keep paying taxes in commune A, you'll be able to make additional deductions in your tax declaration. With family in commune A you shouldn't have any problems getting that accepted by the authorities.

This is assuming that your residence permit doesn't prohibit such an arrangement.
