Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

Ffp2 and ffp3 masks used to be available on coop vitality website for a while but not any longer. On Amavita's website they exist but "out of stock". Anybody purchased them recently? There's something available on coop bau and hobby's website but is much more expensive then previous options...

Got some while back from a local pharmacy but were sold individually and without package. I would prefer them to be packaged properly

Re: Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

There are a lot of options, prices vary:

https://www.acumax.ch/hygiene/schutz...p2-masken.html

https://sanihaus.ch/schutzmasken/479-ffp2.html

https://www.jumbo.ch/de/maschinen-we...eit/atemschutz

https://www.toppreise.ch/produktsuche?q=atemschutzmaske

https://www.dennda.ch/produkt/mundschutz_kn95/

Be aware that some products are fake , do not fit or overpriced.

A few weeks ago, I saw FFP2 masks being sold at OBI, in the check-out lines.

Re: Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

Side note: Switzerland has bought two machines to manufacture FFP2 masks, they were installed in St. Gallen and are up and running. Together they can produce 40.000 masks per day.

I don't think these masks go to the consumer market, but it might be interesting to know.

The machines still produce crap(means 0 delivery per day):

Re: Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

Let's hope the production will be on (and hopefully built up some reserves) when the second wave begins

On another note, I did come across lots of Chinese masks sold both online and in pharmacies. While they are probably completely fine and most likely not important for most of us I'd still prefer 3M or some other known brand given that I am looking for someone who is vulnerable and would prefer somewhat more of piece of mind...

Just in case someone is interested I found this link to be useful for making sense of mask certificates:

Re: Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

I sourced FFP2 N95 masks early all packaged individually, and have more than enough.
Paid around CHF 5.- per mask (but exhausted my clothes budget for this year), and feel comfortable going out in any situation.

They are still available on-line? Maybe revise your search criteria (don’t know you enough to give my source, sorry)

Avoid chinese N95 masks until you tried them on, most of them are made for aisian style heads, so the masks do not fit correct.

Before you buy them , order a sample to avoid waste of money.

They are perfect for me and my adult daughter, and we do not have “Asian” heads
They need to fit properly over the nose, under the chin and around the cheeks. Mostly achieved by the plieable metal bit above the nose.

"Asian style heads" is some racist nonsense. (As is the assumption on the thread that those asking for advice aren't Asian.) We can do better, y'all. Come on.

It's good advice to try on different brands of masks to see if they are a good fit for you.

Re: Where to purchase ffp2 masks in Zurich?

I don't think there's anything racist in the comment. Actually I was in March in Turkey and got some Turkish-made ones there before travelling back to Switzerland. It was huge for my head, no way it could properly fit even though it was adjustable and ones I got here later were just fine even though unadjustable.

On the other for my husband it was the other way around. The Turkish one suited him well whereas the one purchased here was too small.

I agree that not each mask suits everybody's head. Different people have different head shapes. It can be even a difference female vs male. It simply does make sense to try different ones and see which one suits you the best...

Isnt it crazy that they want to turn masks into a fashion accessory ( and of course make big money ). Capitalism at it worst

It’s not as nonsensical as it may sound. Asians have unique facial and cranial characteristics that present legitimate challenges for design of eyewear, helmets, face masks, etc. With technology and facial recognition and such, it’s a topic that is actively researched and documented.
