Shopping bags-too sexist for Switzerland

A specially designed corona bag is too hot for the Migros in Zurich. There are three well-known artists behind the illustrations. Migros had the bags made. 120,000 of them. Now they have scrapped them. Too sexist for Switzerland

Re: Shopping bags-too sexist for Switzerland

Don't know about sexist, but nudity yeah. Absolutely no need for it on a shopping bag of all things and what the heck do they even have to do with the virus?

And it took 3 artists to make those? Heaven help them if that's the standard of their work.

Re: Shopping bags-too sexist for Switzerland

I also don't really see them as being sexist, but they are tasteless.

I can just imagine the artists' other work: Naked man being tickled by his golden retriever.

3 women who are described as moderate feminists and are known for this sketches involving nudity.

Clearly the result of lockdown and too much acid.

Are they the artists who created these images?

I don't mind nudity in art as long as it's in good taste (e.g. Botticelli's "Birth of Venus," which in truth is just partial nudity, or the work of Man Ray). But these are cartoon drawings of a naked woman doing strange things with her cat... on shopping bags.

I question Migros' taste for art and their use of budgeted money.

I myself have nothing against nudity and am very open minded which it comes to the human body and modifying and/or showing it. But I still believe that nudity has zero business on a shopping bag.

I don't have a problem with the nudity, but find it strange that someone would draw a naked woman sniffing the a$$hole of a tea-drinking cat.

Man, these things happen, no need to judge people for it. It's Friday night and you're idly sitting at home. From afar you hear the thumping of music and you just assume, that it's Larry who's throwing one of his legendary parties. The game is on TV but you've already betted the best part of your rent on the wrong team so you might as well let loose a bit. You start with a few pregame drinks, because Larry is always cheap with his liquor and you decide to nibble on your room-mates Appleton Reserve, because he's out of town and fork does he know about Appleton Reserve anyways. A dash of Old Spice and out the door you go. On the way to Larry's, you start noticing that the liquor had hit you a little harder than usual and in order to safely navigate the 2 blocks, you opt to take the car. . .but end up pulling into the wrong driveway, wrong party but who cares. The mood is mellow, the liquor is flowing and you don't know anybody but nobody seems to care and so you indulge. Before you know it, your chaser has a chaser and you find yourself on the wrong side of sobriety and rationality and it's 3:30 am, you're bucknaked on the frontlawn sniffing Tinkerbell's bum. We've all been through such moments. . . I'm not saying those are proud moments but hey, there's worse in life.

Same.

I'd expect ... dunno, a joke, a message, whatever. Especially when they're as badly drawn as these two. I suck at drawing but I'd beat that by lightyears, easily.

The idea was to cheer people up with something funny after the lockdown. Especially children

Please let's not extend the series to include sucking and beating on shopping bags.

Although lightyears might be nice, if you could draw those, please.

Re: Shopping bags-too sexist for Switzerland

It's hilarious.

I bet they planned it that way, scandals help artists more than those funky bags not being noticed by Migros customers.

Nudity might no longer sell but controversy does. Just not on these Migros bags

Wow. Which planet do you come from. Its hardly what you would call nudity here. A few lines and curves and dots and you call that nudity

Nudity isn't the controversy here. Girls having fun with pussycats is. SexEd will recycle them.

Re: Shopping bags-too sexist for Switzerland

Quote "The artists assert that the destruction of a large number of bags also hurts them for ecological reasons. The censorship case is a clear knee in front of the outrage society, in which the avoidance of a possible reputation damage for corporations like Migros removes any other argument, no matter how reasonable. The free representation of the naked human body would soon only be tolerated in pornography, which meant enormous impoverishment, especially for the children. Only recently was the artist rejected a sculpture for a school house because - oh fright! - contained the representation of bare breasts."

The cat is not really a cat...it's a.....visual metaphor of some sort.

So how do you like girls having fun together?
