Amazon best seller?

Amazon is showing John Bolton’s book as a best seller, but it is only available to pre-order?

And 17 bucks ...

What a [expletive deleted] joke.

Pretty accurate if you ask me. An imbecile throwing $hit at another imbecile is absolutely a best-seller even before he wrote that thing.

How can something be a best-seller before they have even sold 1?

Preorders may be...

Oh, on reading the thread thought that this was about a good book, my mistake.

Have already read all the good bits in this one yesterday in the press releases (CNN, BBC, NY Times), and that was just fine.

We all know the subject is a danger to modern society, and this book is only another seal of approval on that.

Yeah, I see no reason to buy a copy and line Bolton's pockets.

While I get a certain Schadenfreud at the details being dished, my opinion of Bolton has not improved. The time to have have come forward with evidence was during the congressional investigation/impeachment hearings.

Besides, I'm just a tad ticked off that Bolton riffed on the title of my favorite Hamilton song. ;)

They have been sold, just not yet delivered.

Well that would be best pre-delivered.

What's the point of this thread, other than you not knowing what a pre-order is? Did you pay for the book and then get mad when it wasn't delivered? :p

No, I got mad when Amazon pushed me to buy an expensive book based on their contention that it was popular. Lies, lies and mor lies.

I think the term "sold" generally refers to an item having been paid for. If you order an item online and pay for it, it has been sold to you even though it may not have yet arrived in the post. People who have pre-ordered Bolton's book on amazon have already paid for it.

I take it English isn't your first language. When a book on Amazon is rated as a #1 best seller, it means that for the short term at least, that book is being sold more than any other book. It doesn't mean that it has sold more copies than any other book in the history of book sales. It does mean that it is the most popular book at the moment. I fail to see how you were misled and lied to. Pretty simple concept actually.

And next month, a book written by Trump's own niece (a PhD in clinical psychology) is due to be released. The book is titled: "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man" and details the abuse in their family as well as Trump's history of tax evasion, etc.

Trump has been trying to block the release of that book as well.

This is pretty much how it works. A friend of mine self-published a book about how being a subservient wife is being a servant of god or something. She sent out links to her friends, pre-selling it for $1 before the official launch.

She now promotes herself a best-selling author, because for those 24 hours of the pre-sale she was the #1 seller of books about that topic on Amazon. Technically she's not lying, but...

And is she a... good friend? :msnshock:

Given all the advertising... you must spend a lot of your time mad then....

Wife of a classmate so more of an acquaintance. But we did go to the same school. I actually witnessed the subservient wife thing at a dinner we were all at, and it was pretty disturbing how he (my classmate) milked it and she sat there and took it. :msnshock:

Ugh, sounds horrible, both in terms of his behaviour and her acceptance and also just the mere thought of having an unquestioningly subservient wife gives me the shivers.
