We have a hand-held "jigsaw" similar to the ones in the links above, as well as the two "horses" or whatever they're called that you use to place the wood on while it's being cut.

Not sure where you live, but if you're within easy driving distance from Greifensee (near Uster), you're more than welcome to bring your piece of wood over and cut it in our garden. My husband could help. He used ours to cut out a rectangle from a thin piece of wood not long ago. I'm not entirely sure how well those machines can cut a nice circle, though. So if you want it to be perfect, you might want to have it done professionally.

But if you're interested in bringing it over, please send me a message.

With the right blade, a reasonably circular hole can easily be cut with a hand jigsaw :
