I have a Dyson Ball back at my house in Scotland.
Donít buy a dyson ball cleaner.

The last time I used mine, I spent 3 days in hospital.

Apparently, I was using it inappropriately.

Ouch! I had a friend in Scotland who was an A and E nurse and the stories she used to tell me about men having "accidents" with vacuum cleaners would make your toes curl up!

Checked out the Senator. Nice vac! Strange that Fust is the only one that sells a remote controlled Miele in all of CH. Or am I just not finding any other dealer that sells it. Not even the Miele on line shop has em.
Is that so ....
Mediamarkt expensive
nettoland.ch never heard of them, will take a closer look myself
microspot
......

But this has a mind of it's own too? You feel safer when it phones home to Germany rather than the US?

Afraid you got the wrong one. I wrote Senator. Not Scout.

Ah, I referred to the <<Strange that Fust is the only one that sells a remote controlled Miele in all of CH.>> bit in that post.

I couldn't figure out what <<Handgriff-Funksteuerung> on the Senator is?
While searching for the answer I noticed, I wouldn't mind a Miele Blizzard CX1 ..... but nope, nope, I don't need a new vacuum cleaner ...... nope!

Really strange, I never noticed. A few days after my moving I just walked into the nearest Fust and bought the best I could judge. A few of them are usually on exhibit.

If you can do without the remote, this (https://www.galaxus.ch/it/s2/product...lveri-12358750) seems to have the same chassis, accessories and power levels of the Senator, for half the price. The Senator has also some extra accessories which you must store separately, but they are seldom used.

Not sure if you still have this question, but it's a couple of small (+) and (-) buttons on the handle, you can use them to control the power of the main unit while vacuuming. It works with a battery, minimum tested life 3 years

I have a large balcony for which I think it could come in handy. There's also an (outdoor) closet there where I think I could store it? I live in an appartment so no different floors unless I want to clean the keller or parking place.
We use the Karcher in a tiny overcrowded 1bed flat. We have a balcony and big window sills over the garden so the leaf blowing gets used regularly. Never had call to use the wet function. Don't find it that much bulkier as the hose detaches simply and hangs in the broom closet. Previous vacuums always developed that old vacuum cleaner smell after a while: when this does you buy a new air filter in Obi and presto problem gone. My wife didn't like the noise level initially but now doesn't care. Exhaust strength hasn't been an issue for us, but then we leave our windows open as much as possible so are not in the habit of relying on the stability of stacks of undisturbed papers.

Would not go back to a fiddly household model, if this ever dies I'm buying the same again.

Re: Need a new vacuum cleaner

I have Mieles, and stick with them because the parts are interchangeable. Currently I have the Cat and Dog, the Medical something-or-other, and two regular vacs. The oldest of the machines is 20+ years old and still functioning.

(Four floors and wobbly knees. When a new vacuum cleaner arrives, the old one moves to a less trafficked floor. That way I don't have to lug unwieldy things up and down stairs.)

Generally satisfied, although one comment on the Cat and Dog: The rotating brush head quickly gets clogged with fur. I then have to disassemble it, cut the fur out of the brushes with scissors. A bit of an annoyance. I've started using the normal head instead, seems to work as well.

Mind, I'm vacuuming up after rough collies and shelties - that is, long, fine fur and acres of it. You might not have the clogged brush problem with other types of fur.

I know you can get much lower priced Miele vacuums, I'm just having a hard time seeing the pricing difference between these two. I mean the Karcher seems to have more functionality (vacuming water, bigger parts, being able to blow) not less. I must be missing some relevant functionality here, hence my post in the hope someone would point it out.

Appearently HEPA filter is one. What are the relevant others which explain this extreme price discrepancy?
Extra quiet wheels with 'suspension' function
Controls on the handle
Quiet function through exhaust filtration
Suction adjustment for different surfaces
Light on handle
Comfort cable retractor
8.5m cable (as opposed to 4m)
Full range of attachments
As mentioned, anyone with allergies will find the HEPA filter more valuable than the price differential
It's a Miele

Honestly a Dacia Duster can do so much more than a Ferrari 488 Pista, but why is the Ferrari so much more expensive?
