Where can I leave/lock my stuff when I do Limmat River cruise

Hi I plan to do Limmat river cruise with my inflatable boat. I do not have a car, so I plan to carry the boat to the river with public transportation first.
There is one problem, when we change our clothes, we do not have enough space on the boat to take everything with us. Does anyone know, or have experience, about where we can keep part of our staff locked, close to the Limmat river?

Many thanks

Have you thought of getting a float bag, like what the swimmers do.

That's illegal here.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

I guess it all depends where exactly you want to enter the Limmat to give you a hint for lockers.

I don't know the river, or where you are starting. Left luggage at the train station? But... what are you going to do for clothes when you get to the end?

We used to do that on the Rhein when we were kids. We were dropped off (don't remember where) and picked up in Eglisau a few hours later.
Maybe you got someone who could do that for you?

Leave your clothes at home. All you need are your togs ( or less if you want )

You can leave it locked on Werdinsel in the building that on Google is called "Städtisches Freibad Höngg" -- there are a hundred or more lockers there. You need to bring your own lock, unfortunately it's not the type where you can just use 2 CHF and get it refunded at the end.

Note that you can start the Limmat swim further up but you HAVE to get out at Werdinsel anyway as there is a dam there. You then go all the way to Dietikon, which takes maybe 70-90 minutes if you float directly, and then as slow as you want if you get out and stop, which you should. Kloster Fahr is a cool place to stop along the way, although if you want to go in you'll need appropriate coverings and shoes.

Re: Where can I leave/lock my stuff when I do Limmat River cruise

Just a public notice from the EKZ (Electric power canton Zurich.):

If you float down the Limmat get out latest at Glanzenberg.

There is enough space, a kiosk with refreshments, restrooms, public grill, and the nearby Glanzenberg train station. Although, there is one more exit at Nötzliwiese use it only as an emergency in case you miss Glanzenberg. Nötzliwise is currently occupied wich machinery and building materials for the Limmattalbahn.

Next stop after Nötzliwiese is the debris screen of the Dietikon power plant. If that happens there will an emergency shut down of the power plant must be done. Don't be that idiot, get out at Glanzenberg.

Re: Where can I leave/lock my stuff when I do Limmat River cruise

Did something change? I've been getting out at Dietikon for years, but have not been down this year, but at least previously it was by no means an "emergency" stop. The flyer you posted ( https://regionale2025.ch/wp-content/...e_2020_low.pdf ) shows that you can still get out at Dietikon with no problem, although yeah I did notice at the end of last summer it was getting less nice with all the construction. Even last year after Glanzenberg stop was opened I almost never saw anyone get out there, nearly everyone continued to Dietikon. The river is pretty slow there and that's by far the least interesting part of the float though, so getting out at Glanzenberg doesn't really make you miss anything, except that I think the S-Bahn doesn't stop there as regularly as it does at Dietikon.

The Freibad au Höngg is closed because of Corona. Should open soon with person control
