Not in the amounts and for the duration people keep complaining about here. And Full Circle is right, this is predominantly an anglo-saxon thing.
Not sure what your point is here.

Changes in the way we live have to start somewhere. Look at Swiss food for example - fondue, wurst, risotto and pizza didn't come from here and were predominantly available in other places for many years before they cam here.

Tobacco cessation started elsewhere too but you're right, it hasn't really taken a foothold here and in other countries with similar views on smoking such as Serbia, Albania and Austria.

I don't know if I care too much if a healthier habit comes from the Anglo-Saxon world or not. If you ask me some countries are also in dire need of regulating alcohol consumption/selling (yeah, I'd adopt the Scandinavian view on this one) but then again some people would never admit they have a problem...

Re: Smoking cigars in the bathing area ( on the lake )

People can smoke wherever, in my view, where there are no kids. I don't like drunks and drug users around kids, nor smokers. It is a habit that if seen many times or as normalcy (or lush as cigars or cool as cig rolling), it gets adopted by kids later. Ask how many smoking adults had smoking parents. Some buy cigs for their kids, too.

Addiction is a disease. Frii kountriis seem to forget that..

Are you sure? Can you give one example where the people have rejected restrictions on smoking, or supported relaxation of existing rules?

At this point in time, of course.

But on the other hand, you would never ask heroin addicts to decide a law on whether heroin should be legalised so it's a moot point.

So you think there should be a smoking ban at badis? Or you should ban kids from badis to get around the problem?

Are there not smoke-free areas at the bathing area?
The crowds make it nearly impossible. Even when it's banned, someone starts making a nuisance of themselves. I stopped going years ago. It's not worth it.

In my experience kids are everywhere so either we need to ban kids for leaving their homes or we need to ban smokers everywhere, neither of which is actually feasible.
I guess adults with no kids could smoke at home and they could create child free smoking rooms at venues but I don’t really see either if those things happening either.

What I don't find tolerable is having fanatical anti-tobacco (or anti anything else) activists pushing their personal beliefs on everyone else. For instance, I know of a non-profit social club for musicians at which nearly 100% of members are smokers, but they have to go outside to smoke or the club will be fined (this has already happened). How does that make sense? It doesn't. Just one of many good examples of bullies forcing their beliefs on others.

But that is just my humble observation.
Switch it up for any drug to people not actively taking part and it would be illegal. Smoking just got grandfathered in. I'm personally fanatically anti-cocaine, anti-heroine and anti-tobacco. I don't allow any in my home and don't frequent any places allowing their use.

TBH, I'm currently anti-alcohol until the pandemic is over. I don't think people can behave appropriately with alcohol in their system with the pandemic going on. If they wish to drink, they should be doing it exclusively at home for the time being.

The running track complex above Thalwil is smoke free -including the refreshment area, the spectator stands and of course the track.

It's quite bizarre going in there. Something feels different. It's like being in a time machine to the 21st Century rather than the 1950s.

Very funny. By that logic everybody who's affected by the question at hand should have to abstain - which oftentimes is the entire population.

It's very clear that you're among those people who strongly disagree with democracy whenever you have a strong opinion on the topic and the voters decided against you.

I have a strong opinion on direct democracy on certain issues - where the issue at hand is in conflict with the selfish self-interests of individuals rather than of the population as a whole today and that of future generations.

I have to say that your view is completely stereo-typical. Please refer to my post above with regards to free-thinkers.

To summarise your view, from your recent posts:

"If someone is anti-smoking it means they are among those people who strongly disagree with democracy".

Can I say one thing to that: For heavens sake, grow up, we're trying to have an adult conversation here.

I'm pretty sure you're intentionally misrepresenting what I posted.

You managed a full three posts without ad hominem or insult, that's quite good for you. No wonder you feel so grownup - if only you had reason to.

You remind me of those hypocrites that ushered in prohibition in the US. Would I be wrong in guessing that you also find homosexuality, promiscuity and rock music sinful?
