Consignment collection

Hello all,

I've just reveived consignment notice from Swiss Post. The collection place is surprisingly at Coop. How does it work? I never saw any post staff here, only a self-service for sending letters.

Thanks.

It's not unusual in more remote areas for a local shop to act as a sub post office, allowing you to send and receive parcels and registered letters, so I imagine this is what your Coop shop is doing.

Our local one is a Volg, as it happens, and includes a weighing/stamping counter which is the only internal sign of the Post Office function, but if you just take your consignment slip to the checkout and they'll find your package for you, in our case usually under the counter for letters or from somewhere in the back of the shop for larger parcels.

Re: Consignment collection

I have had to collect a DHL consignment at a bar in Italy.

Quite convenient, actually.

Yes, we get this with points rélais in France. Local to us here, just 4km away across the border in Châtel, is one at a dry cleaners that stays open till 1900 every evening; up in Alsace our preferred collection point is a bar in the next village, also just a short drive or cycle ride away.

Not at all relevant to the OP here, though.

Re: Consignment collection

I received the letter and went to pick up the package. However the collection point does not have the package anywhere. They say they did not receive it. What might be my options

Probably the best thing would be to call the post and give them the info on your notice….they can search.

I once had a notice that something was delivered, except it wasn‘t. Sometimes they screw up.

I'm in search for a bar that can accept my packages around Porlezzo area. Do you happen to know any ?

I'm currently using Amazon locker but 50% of deliveries can be delivered there
