Re: Our neighbor from hell

I had a similar nightmare years ago when renting an apartment. We tried many things (Talking directly, mediator, police), nothing worked effectively enough in the end...until we built our own home without any shared walls

Of course, I had nightmare scenarios over the years in the US too. Mutual respect & understanding remains a work in progress everywhere

Never yet have I seen any success, at all, not one millimetre, in driving them out, or getting them to behave less instrusively.

Bring her flowers and then say your peace.

If that doesn't work, follow Doropfiz's advice. It's spot on.
That might work. But it could also back fire - big time

Sorry, I know this is off-topic, but Tom... I want to thank you for sharing that recipe. I've been looking for a new bolognese recipe for a while and am going to try that one.

too cumbersome and complicate. download baby crying, dog barking or loud sex sound recordings to phone, connect to powerful bluetooth speaker, play them at random times preferably between 22h00 and 6h00.

Speaking of bluetooth ... she doesn't happen to have unsecured bluetooth speakers in her apartment, does she? I've read how people have driven others out of 'haunted' apartments by hijacking their speakers at night ... not loud noises, just intermittent and 'spooky' ones.

Oh, and best not to breach the normal "peaceful" time limits - but you could really put her off her lunch with some of Axa's suggested sounds ...

And cheap too! They'll soon be in every flat except top floors.

I wonder about the influence on the architectural statics in some houses. In some places you can't even use a power-plate of 50Hz. As someone said, this could back-fire - who wants the neighbour to drop into one's bedroom one night.
