Have you tried sending him a PM?

I’m sure he’d appreciate you asking after him.

Depends, I get notices of PMs in my email box, but I think that you have to select that you want email notifications.

Well, every start of the new school year is like a Big Bang. I am still in it both feet, GE is a bit advanced in their calendar if I am not mistaken, plus private schools are special, so I'd suggest to be patient. But Elu, thumbs up from me for inquiring X

Coucou McT - we are wishing you well..

An email or a PM? When a post is edited or deleted, the system generates an automatic private message to the user. I don't think those can be avoided since it's a system-generated message.

There is a setting where users can choose whether or not to receive an email indicating that they have a private message. I think the default setting is on, as in "yes, please send an email when I have a PM".

HTH

Maybe he enjoys a good social media detox, we should all try it once in a while...

Tbh I miss his posts but am glad he doesn't share so many intimate things here. For his own good. I really wish him well.

I took a roughly month-long break from here a few months ago after feeling frustrated with it, and I can say for myself that I did feel much more at peace because of it. It's all about "getting it out of your system," it seems. We are creatures of habit, as they say, and many of us use this place because it's designed to work on our dopamine circuits, thus to be addictive. That's why it keeps pulling us back to it. And increased dopamine makes people aggressive and competitive. Internet forums also increase people's cortisol levels (stress hormone). It was nice to spend that hour in the evening watching Netflix or sinking into a good book instead of getting caught up in arguments on the internet.

I have the advantage of having the attention span of a goldfish..

I'll have forgotten everything a few moments after it happened .. It's great, every time I log into EF it's like everything is new. No need to take a break

Re: Has anyone heard something from McTavge?

Perhaps we should send him multiple PM's? I did that with another user who hasn't been on here in awhile and she got back to me - said she just wanted a break.

I get emails for my PM's ...

Maybe he also wants a break?

I really liked his posts, but I totally get it.

Another nice forum member has recently deleted her EF account, I feel quite sad that people don't find anything good in here anymore. A pity. It used to be more fun.
