Mushroms in Schwarzwald

Hi all,
Would any of you happen to know a good spot in Schwarzwald to find mushrooms?
I know that good mushrom hunters would never reveal their favorite spots to pick up mushrooms, or even would lie to you about it and send you to the wrong place. Have pity!

I'm not a mushroom hunter, but OH is. He won't even tell me, spouse of 30+ years - where 'his' patch is. I think he's afraid I don't take it seriously enough.

I wish I could help, but as I can't I'll just wish you well.

*OH's secret weapon was Hooligan, who had a nose for 'shrooms. This is our first mushroom season without her - and suddenly pickins' are mightly slim.

You should be aware picking mushrooms in the Black Forrest, Iíve read stories of German police arresting Swiss for trying to bring chanterelles back across the border. I canít recall the reason exactly however I think it was to do with the quantity. Worth checking out the rules though!

Ahh in Baden Wuerttemberg you are only allowed to pick 1 kg of wild mushrooms, so the remaining 2 kg the person tried to bring back were confiscated and given to a care home.

Quite different in Swiss cantons. In Freiburg, for example, you can collect between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Many cantons have quantity limits or, as in GraubŁnden or Zurich, collection is only allowed from the 1st to the 10th of the month.
