Totally. But changing shop times has historically proven to be a bit difficult..

Other countries start even earlier than here, I was on hosp shifts at 5am back home. At schools after 7am. Here is lush times.

Switzerland cannot afford to be on a different time than our neighbours. If Germany moves so will Switzerland.

Happily if anything it will be winter time that is cancelled.

Re: Time Change - Oct 2020

Hopefully nothing gets changed. The is such a non-issue, and I want my summer evenings and my winter mornings to be light.

Re: Time Change - Oct 2020

I do prefer lighter mornings and darker evenings than vice-versa. I find it so difficult to wake up on dark mornings and also don't really like the idea of young kids walking to school in the dark.

Why not? Multiple time zones work in the US, Russia, Canada, Australia, etc.

Baby's sleeping through the night, I take it?
Or jacek's sleeping through the night?

I completely forgot, too. Woke up so rested, late (well, early). In the time of pandemics, sleep is important. Hope Poland is not sleepless, I watch their news. Crossing fingers for them.

Re: Time Change - Oct 2020

I’m so old I can clearly remember Daylight Savings being implemented as a child in Switzerland.
Can remember the press (Illustré ?) had a cartoon of a farmer pointing a flashlight at his sleepy cows, with the caption: get up !

I suppose we could go back to before.
Why not?

Apologies for my ignorance, but could somebody explain the benefit of keeping Daylight Savings versus not keeping it?

So long as it doesn't descend into this sort of situation.

"A part of the Hopi Nation, which lies within the Navajo Nation, follows Arizona's no-DST rule. To confuse matters more, there is also an even smaller Navajo Nation territory within the Hopi Nation within the Navajo Nation. In addition to this, there is another Hopi area adjacent to the main Hopi Nation territory.

As a result, if driving the correct route from the Arizona state border through both Navajo and Hopi areas to the other side one can end up changing one's clock 7 times! For example: Tuba City (Navajo) and Moenkopi (Hopi) are only a couple of miles apart, but they have a 1-hour time difference during the summer. Jeddito (Navajo), in the middle of Hopi Nation territory, is 1 hour ahead of the surrounding areas during summer."
