I remember there was a small one here years ago that happened in the middle of the night. It was strong enough to wake me up, and at the time, it felt like someone had fallen onto my bed though no one was there. It was weird. And then the next morning, I learned from my friend that there had been an earthquake at that time.

As the epicentre was in Elm, Glarus, you were much closer to it than the OP!

I think it's because I lived in California and had experienced them. I think most small ones are easy for folks to miss.
