Digitec & Microspot

Is it just me or just to calculate into the purchase process that online shopping at those two shops takes at least a week to arrive. Microspot customer service /phone/ email never responds and a callback request can only be booked 3-4 weeks in upcoming period.

I bought stuff in spring Corona time, during normal summer time and last week. And wait and wait and wait...

Just unlucky?

If an item is in stock and you order early enough in that day then it generally arrives the next day. If it's not in stock and needs to be sourced, then it takes however long it takes depending on the availability of the item. If you aren't happy with waiting additional days, weeks or months then you can, in the vast majority of circumstances, cancel your order and get your money back.
I don't think it's too complicated.

I also don't believe that Microspot never pick up the phone, having contacted them myself in the last few months. With digitec, better to always call and not email especially with COVID staff disruptions.

Re: Digitec & Microspot

Was the item actually in stock when you ordered? Digitec has been rock solid for me. I get everything within 2 days. If I need anything urgently I just go and pick it up myself.

Overall there is nothing better than Digitec/Galaxus in Switzerland. I buy from other shops only when I am desperate.

Re: Digitec & Microspot

Yes. Was in stock with notification of 2-3 days delivery and at microspot several items with note split order if items unavailable.

It does not take much for Swiss customer service lines to get overwhelmed... especially in the current situation when demand is higher than normal and staffing is lower than normal, both due to the pandemic. You just have to keep trying until you get through.

What was the item if you don't mind sharing? Sex toys are in high demand currently, people are hoarding for when the lockdown comes j/k

Regarding Digitec, they do screw up sometimes, but they have always made it right for me. Anyway, good luck.

Re: Digitec & Microspot

Digitec/Galaxus let me down last week. I ordered an office chair at 5pm and, rather than arrive the next day, I had to wait 36 hours for the thing.

As you say, a disgrace!

Re: Digitec & Microspot

On the digitec website there's a little note above the price that says if the product is on a local warehouse or needs to be imported first. Once ordered a phone when there were only 3 in stock....2 days later I got an email that the product will take 5-6 weeks to be available once again. Cancelled the order via their website and got another phone.

Microspot sometimes has better prices than Digitec and its easier to have it sent to a pick up point. Saves on delivery charges

Re: Digitec & Microspot

My personal experience with both of them is really good. The problems only start when they don't have the items and indeed you'll have to wait.

First time happened with some memory modules for my NAS, on Microspot's site, which had wrong information regarding the delivery from the wholesaler - like, should have been delivered after a week, took them a month.

And now I have the same problem with Digitec, tried to purchase a new Sony Xperia 5 II with expected delivery date of October end, now the order says expected delivery beginning of April

I concur with regard to Microspot. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Had to return a faulty product and it was the 7th circle of hell. In my case, nobody responded neither via email or phone in time. Finally, it took them a month to respond via email.

Re: Digitec & Microspot

I've had only good experiences with them ... but as others have said, the items I've ordered have always been in stock. Didn't get my last order in early enough (after 8, rather than before 6) so it arrived two days later rather than the next day.

no.... I just found out today that you have to have a minimum order of Fr.49 for the "free" pick up point, i.e., exactly the same if you get it delivered to your home.

Not sure when they started doing this!
