| | Coronavirus mink scare - travel to & from Denmark banned ?
Looks like countries are going to really clamp down on people from Denmark or have been to Denmark
in recent days, entering their country with the UK imposing tough restrictions verging on a total
travel ban with Denmark. BBC News - Covid19, Hauliers included in Denmark restrictions
Could this see Britains favourite Danish bacon disappearing from British supermarket shelves
before Christmas ?

Positive cases in minkfarms have also been found in Sweden & Netherlands.

and it was of course done in the most awful of ways. Mink are such intelligent animals. The way they treat pigs is dreadful too.
I hope they get cut off from the EU and the rest of the world for this- might make them re-think their dreadful ways.

why do you groan this FGS - are you in favour? Really?
Tradition hides some very sick stuff - but this in particular.

He's not the only one though.

Don't worry about some old men venting their inner issues and complexes on some anonymous online forums, life is too short for that

I couldn't even read articles on the story as it makes my heart hurt too much...those poor animals.
As much as I take COVID-19 seriously, I feel that this dips into the realm of hysteria. One of my closest friends is a veterinarian, and she has spoken about how animals regularly have a variety of corona viruses. I am admittedly ignorant as to how this strain found in Denmark could prove deadly for humans, but I am sure you could find similar types of viruses in a number of animals.
We humans are so destructive...

We humans are so destructive... | | | | | I know, so sad. Tens of millions of innocent animals.
I guess the only mitigating factor is they were already doomed to a cruel and unnecessary death. Time to ban the fur trade. Haven't we learnt yet that getting close to wild animals is a bad idea. Its highly likely its how the crisis started - and this is already another warning signal for the next crisis.

The problem is that the Mink version of the virus has sufficiently mutated that it would likely render all the current vaccine projects ineffective. Do you really want another year of this sh1t?

I am not a scientist, nor do I understand how it could make the vaccine projects ineffective...but something tells me there are numerous risks for that out there.

I don't think being close to minks is that different to being close to dogs. Dogs are a reservoir of things that can kill us and we love them anyway. If we have learnt something, dogs would be banned......sometimes it's good not to learn |

I gather you all don't use leather products or consume butchered animals either? As fur consumption is exactly same as wearing leather products or eating meat | Quote: | | | | | Yes, as I like eating whale.

I am sure it is not. And I get his point, I like beef, so in a way there is no difference. Apart that the beef I eat is not stabbed to death in a massive blood bath. And yes, I have visited out local abattoir. Not nice, but respectful- local farms, quick death, proper stunning.

There is no "respect" if something is killed without it's consent. With a knife or a bolt gun.
Humans just make up those terms to justify the killing and feel ok about themselves | The following 6 users would like to thank Talk to you later for this useful post: | |

I have no problem killing animals for food, after all the food chain is a natural thing and at the end of the day we are part of it too and I donīt think that we are at the top of that chain... that would be the worms that eat us.
I do however have a problem with killing animals for vanity.
