I imagine the 60 km is from place where you live to destination, not from border- as is the case for France (but 30km).Can anyone confirm?
It's not clear at all, the same article says 60km from the border,

"I cittadini svizzeri, residenti entro i 60km dal confine, potranno venire in Italia per 24 ore senza doversi sottoporre al tampone."

(P.S. that means Swiss citizens, NOT Swiss residents)

and elsewhere in the same article 60km total.

"Ci si puņ muovere per 60 km dalla residenza"

But again "I cittadini svizzeri" (Swiss citizens).

I imagine that all will become clear in the next days.

We live in Zurich, however now we have rented an apartment in Lugano for home office and we are here for sometime. Was thinking to go to Milano on Saturday, just a bit of stroll in the city and dining. got bored!!
Unless your official residence is Lugano, you are out of luck.

Well it is clear that it is from the point of residence, not the border- same as for the 30km re France.

Hmmm. I'm 14KM from the border as the crow flys..... but 78KM by road (loophole???) Might have to go on skis.

What is not clear if it's 60 km to the border or to the destination.

BIG difference.

Re: Travelling across the border for shopping

Was shopping in Germany yesterday, the initial rush is over. There was only one person in front of me at the cash desk in DM.
Last week I did not even attempt to shop in DM because there was a queue to get in.

I don't have to worry about the 60 km but I imagine there will be a big rush.

Might wait a bit.

Looks weird but in Italy citizen term is not used properly and it can also refer to resident.
I would not mind about it.
60 km from your home is clear but it depends if you can prove it.

You need to fill out a form stating your residence (just did it for my wife).

https://app.euplf.eu/#/

And send a copy of the dplf that is sent to your email to rientro.estero@ats-insubria.it

It is also suggested that you print it and carry it with you.

My wife will go this afternoon, we shall see how it goes.

She's there at the moment, I'll report back if and when she returns.

We also plan to go Sunday for a few hours in the afternoon.

If all goes well, I will go on Tuesday during my lunch break.

at our border recently, they asked people for ID as proof. And for those with Bern plates, it was quite obvious.

Just because one has Bern plates does not mean that one lives in Bern.

I had Zurich plates for nearly a year after moving to Ticino, for example.

And I have TI plates on a bike I keep in Trieste.

I am Italian and ID is not evidence of residence but it is evidence of identity only.
I had Italian ID card with address in Ticino but living in Zurich since almost one year.
Now I have changed. But I haven't changed for that reason. You don't need to change if you relocate, because ID card is for identity only.
There are many Italian in the police they don't know that.

Re: Travelling across the border for shopping

I have no idea what documentation they were asking for. Just saw them ask, the driver handing some document/s- and then being told to do a U turn and go back. Driving licence? Car documents? I don't know.

To confirm: are there any restrictions (tests, vaccination proof, forms to fill etc, on the way there and back) for day visit to Germany from Switzerland now? Is shopping now allowed? Thank you!

I have already tried two times: no block at the bolder.
You can go without COVID19 test if you stay less than 24 hours.
No restriction regarding shopping.

Re: Travelling across the border for shopping

Latest info for Italy:

a) 60km from home to destination (made clear)

b) best if you do online declaration and print it out, BUT the mayor of Ponte Tresa just said on the evening news if you don't, just fill one out at the border, takes 30 seconds (his words), and all is good.

Keep up. :-) The only restriction is that you have to wear a proper mask on public transport and in the shops, exactly what kind depends on the risk level in the part you're visiting so may as well just take an FFP2 mask with you. Apparently yelling i bi sho geimpf doesn't give you an exemption.
