| | Bern Christmas Market 2020
Probably the only Christmas Market in Switzerland so let's make the most of it and enjoy Christmas spirit among EFers!
In the Advent season, the scent of gingerbread, roasted almonds and caramel fills Bern’s festively decorated alleyways. Follow your nose and you will find inviting markets and small winter paradises in the old town of Bern.
Who is up for it?

Who is up for it? | | | | | I thought Bern was also cancelled? If not I think I would visit.
I know there are bigger issues out there right now,I'm also aware that the markets being cancelled under the current circumstances makes sense, but like alot of folk I haven't seen my family this year and it has been really difficult.
The Christmas markets would have just been a big comfort this year.

This will include how to ensure entry and exit and contact tracing, and how to deal with the requirement to wear a mask and consumption while seated. More information will follow. | This user would like to thank V__ for this useful post:

Darcy | | | | | You are absolutely correct, let's all enjoy Christmas and not think too much, I know a lot of people like myself haven't changed their habits and rightfully so.

Hey, don't forget the Montreux one, closer to Lausanne https://www.myswitzerland.com/fr-ch/...aisirs-dhiver/
I think I'll just get a beer advent box and go to ski as much as possible.

| | Montreaux Christmas Market 2020 | Quote: | | | | Montreux reinvents its Christmas market. Montreux Noël and Dolce Riviera have joined forces to create "Winter Pleasures" at six locations.
Launched on November 25, the demonstration will be extended this time beyond Christmas, until January 4. And will span six entertainment zones. In place of the station, a communal space called “la Chotte” will have a large wooden table with 300 seats and three chalets offering drinks, mulled wine and pizzas. The place will be an extension of the traditional logging village which will remain near the landing stage. But it is at the station that the traditional rum tea will be served for the benefit of four local associations, "Je danse", the rescue company La Dame du lac, the Montreux Hockey Club and the Empire Skate Building (ASSIR ). The Eurovision Song Contest will find its booths of hunting products, foie gras, mulled wine and sausages. A new two-storey table will be installed there so that visitors can eat seated. Entrance restrictions may arise in case of high traffic, especially on weekends.
The three usual restaurant chalets, Terre Vaudoise, La Poya and La Rouvenettaz will be placed between the landing stage and the Place du Marché. The Bar des Etoiles, usually located on the heights of the Covered Market, will be erected on the riprap next to the statue of Freddie Mercury and will be called the Bar du Lac. Closed spaces for conviviality and catering will be governed by Gastro Vaud guidelines (social distance, hand hygiene, traceability and wearing a mask for all trips).
The Place du Marché will find its Ferris wheel and a children's carousel. It will also have - new - a paddock with ponies for walks along the quays. The covered market will have around twenty chalets intended for Swiss creative artisans and traders at the weekly market in Montreux. There will also be activities in the form of cutting workshops, Christmas decorations, chocolate, knitting or cookies.
There will even be a Santa Claus parade. However, this year, it will not be flying, but will come by sled rolling on the quays every weekend in December with two passages per day. As the man with the white beard will not be able to approach the public for health reasons, he will remain in performance seated in his sled. | | | | | | This user would like to thank V__ for this useful post:
