Crossing to Basel in Covid times

Hi!
We are moving next week to the French side of Basel (sounds more fancy than St Louis area ), and on the 15th the "lockdown" is over for France except for the 8pm to 6am curfew... My question is.. would it be possible to go to Switzerland for walks/coffee on the go/explore? Or do we need any type of authorization to be able to walk around?

Edit: multiple edits because my brain is not working today .

Re: Crossing to Basel in Covid times

I don't know about Basel but i crossed from Geneva into France by train last week. They visually checked IDs but didn't ask for any paperwork or ask people why they were crossing or where they were going.

The OH came in from Austria a couple of days before and she wasn't even checked at the border.

You still need a copy of the french attestation giving your reasons for bring out of the house to cover you while on french soil (this requirement is due to be dropped on the 15th), otherwise there's nothing to stop you crossing over and exploring!

Coffee you can only have as take-away - Basel rest/cafes are closed until 20th (at least).

You were lucky. Today they were checking all IDs and pulling quite a number over for interrogation. It was quite a mess. Coming in to CH on the other hand was a piece of cake.

If lockdown is over in France, can we cross border shop from Basel again?

There was nothing to stop you cross border shopping before in France - you just needed an attestation. Now that need has gone but you need to be out of the country before curfew commences at 20:00
