Registering for vaccine

I went to the Zurich site for info about pre-registering for the vaccine, but can't find a link. I'm well aware that my German skills are crap, but the site mentions that a pre-registration option is available at this point, but offers no further links or information.

Can someone help? Thank you!

It says there will be the possibility to pre-register on that site.
I assume it’s not actually up and running yet.

Re: Registering for vaccine

No registration for Zurich as of yet. They are setting up vaccination centers and I’d expect nothing to move till March. At the earliest.

I called someone at the information line and tormented someone with my terrible German. The website is "misinformed." No online registration.

Meanwhile, in other Cantons, you can register and get a notification when your number is up. Well, for the vaccine.

Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Re: Registering for vaccine

Deepl translation:

"At this point, a registration facility will be available for persons willing to be vaccinated to register and pre-register for a vaccination appointment. In accordance with the vaccination strategy, persons at particular risk will receive an appointment first. However, due to the limited amount of vaccine and delivery delays, all appointments for February have already been made. The Health Directorate will inform about the details in due time and asks the population to continue to be patient."

So not possible yet and anyway, my understanding was that this is only possible for the people who are in scope.

Keep in mind you don't need to be vaccinated in your canton - so you can already pre-register in Aargau

Please don't take vaccinations meant for Aargau! We are going slow enough already

Re: Registering for vaccine

I have a friend who is a volunteer fireman and he says he is in the second highest priority group. Despite that he's not scheduled to get a vaccine any time soon.

So it's time to wait for things to develop and to step back so those who need it more than us can get it first.

ZH: I got a high risk family member, confirmed by doctors and all, still no way to be vaccinated, we are told "not before mid-march" for the first jab.

Re: Registering for vaccine

I‘m in the second priority group too. I seriously doubt anything will happen before March. Zurich is doing people over 75, people in nursing/care facilities, and active patients at Risk regardless of age of the Uni Spital (maybe other places) That‘s group one.

Zurich is setting up 11 mass vax sites across the Kanton. I suspect that will be organized in March.

I thought the system was set up for people to be vaccinated in their Kanton of residence. I would hope that people stay in their Kanton for their vax, unless there is a damn good reason.

Re: Registering for vaccine

I believe vaccinations are generally administered in the canton of residence but there are provisions for certain people to get vaccinated in another canton if they work in a canton that is not there place of residence.

I know for example that a neighbour’s son who lives in Vaud but works as a nurse in the emergency department at the hospital here in Neuchâtel was vaccinated in Neuchâtel.

That’s my understanding of the situation from what I’ve read in the news. I would imagine that a non resident who registered without a valid reason for doing it in that canton would be very far down the list for vaccination.

I looked into registering in Basel Stadt, where I work, but was told that I had to be a resident.

Maybe its just hospital staff that work in a different canton?

I think that’s probably it. The article I read said that certain people could be vaccinated outside their canton of residence but it didn’t specify exactly who those people were.
