No queue at heathrow on Thursday was amazingly efficient.

Does anyone know if T5 (BA) seem any quicker or slower than other LHR terminals? Can anyone give any feedback? Actually, I haven’t flown BA for so long, is T5 LHR still only for BA? Wondering whether to fly Swiss or BA back to the UK.

Looks like it’s pretty much only BA in T5

Just booked my day 2 and day 8 tests via the official gov.uk link. https://www.find-travel-test-provide...est-type/amber
98.90 GBP from Eurofins, sent through the post to home. Royal Mail Priority return to lab and 24 hour results turnround from delivery to their lab.
I'm happy to quarantine anyway so not a problem if there is a delay, but we will see.
Lots of (the cheaper looking) providers are sold out!
Looked at lots of options at the Zurich end, and decided to go to the airport tonight for a walk in test. https://checkport.info/covid-testcen...afen-zuerich-2
5 Hour turnround at certain times, but after 17.00 you get results next day by 12.00
A lot of the other places we called (pharmacies etc.) are either sold out or can't guarantee turnround.
Kind regards
Ian

PCR.
For me there is still too much confusion about whether or not a quick test will * always * get you on plane / into UK, plus the validity is too short. And... it seemed quick tests were mostly sold out where we checked.
Queued for 30 mins for the test this evening at 7pm. Results coming tomorrow by midday.
If you are flying ZRH to LHR and have a Fruit Based Phone, there's an option to sign up for the IATA travel app which will receive your results direct. Proper android version coming mid May, it says... maybe they forgot to specify which year?
Regards
Ian

Seems to be not uncommon, including mixing with red list countries.

Utter shitshow at Heathrow this evening - half the desks unmanned on the EU/UK passport queue and 2 hours to get through border control starting from exactly the same place as a few weeks ago when it took 70 mins to do the same size queue.

Oh Joy. My turn tomorrow. Flight arriving at 13.00... maybe I'll get lucky?
Regards
Ian
PS. ZRH airport test centre test result (thankfully negative) arrived at 11.52 today. So at least that bit works.

This was clearly a poorly manned shift as about 5 mins before we got to the end desks to be checked they changed shift and there were then 6 people on the desks and not 3. Pot luck.

Ian | | | | | Hope your day 2/8 tests proving more promising - Royal mail tracking confirms delivery with no tests to be found. Day 5 (booked as “in person” test at Boots useless unless day 2 test processed) Lab is unresponsive and now it is the weekend
Anyone who has good suggestions for reliable day 2/8 experience?
I have some trips coming up, am leaning towards any option that offers in person testing for days 2 and 8 (there are some, location dependent) I am assuming that even as EU travel hopefully becomes less complicated with covid passports, the UK will not necessarily be offering a similar template.

Hi everyone!
Related a bit to this topic - has anyone had any experience of flying in and out of the UK the same day for a business trip at the moment?
Is this do-able, in anyone's experience?
Looking forward to hearing is someone else has faced this topic, and if there was a way to manage it.
Thankyou!

They've not updated the map, but as of this evening the UK is back on the FOPH "risk list" https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home...html#858610174 |

No doubt thanks to Hancock as always bleating in full on panic mode to the media - have these people ever remotely heard of crisis management?

I flew in to Heathrow yesterday morning & left in the evening. I needed to show my 2/8 day tests plus test an arrival. I have since been refunded for those tests (in clinic) with Biograd.
I got a call from test & trace this morning & told them I was no longer in the UK, they also sent me a text.
