incoming registered letter, but name misspelled by one character

Hello all,

I was notified by Swiss Post that I have an incoming registered letter from Migrationsamt. I checked the scanned photo of the envelope, and my name was misspelled by one character, like Priyanka Chopra -> Rriyanka Chopra But somehow the system was able to identify me and my address.

Should I do something about it? I just posted a note at my mailbox saying that registered letter is expected with the misspelled name.

I hope this is not your name (Edit: Properly not.). Otherwise edit the above post. And make a more obvious example like Pitter Mustermann - Ritter Musterman.

Usually the post have some leniency. But if the play by the book they can refuse the handover.

That is not their name, unless someone pretty famous is using EF.

OP, youíll get your letter. Postie isnít stupid. Iíd be more concerned that the migrationsamt have your name wrong - especially is applying for citizenship.

Thank you for your answers, aSwissInTheUS and Island Monkey!

Just an update: The post lady actually didn't deliver my post and almost left . I heard my neighbor's bell ring around usual mail delivery time (but mine didn't ring) so I just went down stair anyway... The post lady was about to leave, without leaving a pick-up note, but there my letter was . I needed to explain that it is just one character off, then the post lady decided to give me the mail

And the name inside the letter content is right (just wrong on the envelope).
