Discos in Switzerland?

According to the official government regulations that Castro uploaded, all discos and night clubs must remain closed.

Does Switzerland still have discos?

Seriously? They’re called bars or clubs around here. Discos died out at the end of the 80s in this area.

Re: Discos in Switzerland?

Discos died out in Scotland in 1979. As soon as we went into 1980 they became clubs as it sounded classier ha ha.

We used to hire a minibus and go all over to places in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, also music venues. Even went to a couple of gay clubs with gay friends. Gave up clubbing when I moved to London in '84, one visit to Stringfellows was enough to make me realise I'd had enough and I was getting too old

I assume these are the places where they have 40+ parties.

Re: Discos in Switzerland?

I heard they have places that do American country dancing.

No, I couldn't believe it either!

You mean where the real fun starts?

There are dance places called "boites" but discos are not such a vintage stuff here, silent discos are very popular at unies here (during non-covid times), theme discos....I think the vintage term is actually in here.

The world is small, so not many details. I got a friend who likes to go to a place in ZH that opens on Sunday afternoon with loud music and have dark rooms. Not sure if they play Disco music, but what I understood is that the place is kind of open mind.
