Boat renting in Greifensee Hi all, is anybody renting a boat (small one for fishing) on Greifensee or know a company that does it? |
Re: Boat renting in Greifensee I've seen people renting boats from beside the Sailing Club (Segelclub vom Greifensee (SCvG)), sometimes for a little paddle, sometimes with fishing gear. Google says 3 spots: https://greifensee-stiftung.ch/boot-fahren.html |
Re: Boat renting in Greifensee Just in case you or anyone reading this and wanting to do the same thing are not aware: While you are allowed to fish without a license on the shore, you need a fishing license to fish from a boat. |

Re: Boat renting in Greifensee Have you tried looking at the sites links? It's all about the Greifensee and has links to follow for different things. |
Re: Boat renting in Greifensee "8610 am See" bar in Uster rents boats (but I could not figure what is the current status since the bar is closed due to covid - I think that boats are not rented now). The price is normally around 15chf per hour, but if you use the boat for fishing you can buy a 10 hours card for 45chf - which makes it 4.5 per hour and it is quite fair. Re fishing license: there is a lot to be said, you can search for "fishing license" on this forum and you'll get enough info to get started. In very short, you have three options if you want to fish from a boat: - buy a daily license (25chf) - take a fishing class, exam, get your federal fishing abilitation (SaNa) and only then buy an yearly license - join someone who has a license + guest license In general there are a lot of rules when fishing, many things that are normally accepted worldwide here fall under animal cruelty laws. So even if you don't take the exam and simply go for the daily license, I'd suggest you to get familiar with the most important rules as not following these can easily land you in trouble |
