Geneva food recommendations

I'll be going to Geneva soon for a short trip.

Looking for the following tips, if anyone has them

1. Favourite Chinese takeaway
2. Favourite cafe for a simple breakfast (good croissant, good cappucino)

Many thanks

Thanks for the suggestion Gata - that one seems doable since this time we will be staying in the old part.

When I used to visit, I more hung around Paquis.

We like Chez ma cousine, but it's a chicken resto.

I haven't checked during the pandemics but it was there right before. I think they have a few joints now.

Re: Geneva food recommendations

How about places for an aperitif cocktail, in the old town. I saw a place online called Bottle Brothers that looked promising?

Pâtisserie Mage for those croissants & breakfast - they are not true french ones, but much better than usual Swiss stuff that is so desperately subpar its not even fun to joke about

Re: Geneva food recommendations

I'll answer my own questions....

For chinese, we changed our mind and had an Indian meal at Kiran. It was good, not great, I'd rate a 7.

For an apero, the bottle bros was a bit bland, service was not great, no snack offered, quite expensive. I'd avoid.

On the other hand, found a GREAT cocktail place called Mr Barber - very knowledgeable barman and innovative drinks, do check it out.

https://www.mrbarbergeneva.com

Also found an excellent patisserie

David Bourdenet, well worth a visit for breakfast, desserts, and coffee. We went back a number of times.
