| | Re: Travelling to Italy - Do children need a negative test? | Quote: | | | | | I heard from an Italian that people who have the vaccination certificates don't need to quarantine nor have a negative test as of Monday. I don't see this information anywhere though and I keep reading that the test is still required. Does anyone know about the rules if you have the vaccination certificates? | | | | | You need a test unless you do the 60km/24hr thing.
Vaccine is still irrelevant at this point.

According to this official site vaccination certificate is enough.
Any experiences with paper/online certificates?

Hi all. Just filling in the locator form and it is asking for the point of entry in Italy, with a huge drop down list. Does anyone know the name of the border, after the Gotthard tunnel, travelling to Tuscany?

Can't figure out what entry point will apply when going from Lausanne to Milan by train.

I just chose one of the Chiasso options. I reckon nobody will ask to see it and if so, Chiasso xxxx will be close enough.

Hey, did you cross the border with Swiss Covid certificate? Swiss did not yet join the EU green certificate program, so technically, it is not valid in Italy... I wonder if there were some issues with it.

We flew into Rome on Thursday and nobody checked for our proof of vaccination or Covid test in Switzerland or in Italy.

Just back from 2 weeks in sunny Tuscany.
We weren't stopped at any point during the whole trip, including the borders. We travelled via the Simplon Pass.

Same here. We drove and no checks or even any signs of checking. Not worth the chance though.
Since our vaccinations weren't over 2 weeks complete we did a test.
Strangely enough, it's not that easy to get a child tested. Not even our paediatrician does it, so we went to Swiss Medi Kids in Luzern, who did the whole family. They were very good and very efficient. it was my first test and while not comfortable, it wasn't bad.

We flew into Rome on Thursday and nobody checked for our proof of vaccination or Covid test in Switzerland or in Italy. | | | | | Update: We weren’t given boarding passes when we checked in online & were told to check in at the counter to get them. They then made all the necessary Covid related checks. I guess Italy doesn’t care we’ve been here for several days potentially spreading the virus, but Switzerland does. |

Is rapid-test acceptable or does it need to be PCR-test?
Thanks.

I asked this question further up. A rapid test is fine but it needs to be done by a professional so you get the documentation.
A home self-test isn't sufficient.
