| | Swiss post added wrong label sent parcel to wrong address - please return
Hello,
Incase someone in 6017 Ruswil has received a parcel which they clearly didnt expect. Its a water pump and small solar charger intended for my garden project. Unfortunately, swiss customs put a completely different name and address over the original label from the previous carrier and tracking number tells me its been delivered to somewhere in 6017 Ruswil, to someone called Marcel.
Incase you have my parcel, please return to the local post office where its been flagged to be redelivered. Not sure what other options I have

Isn't it for Swisspost to go and get it for you?
Otherwise google the name, postcode and town and see if you find anything.
I suppose technically it hasn't arrived so you can claim against the seller and the seller can claim against the post.

I found one. Might be him, might not but Ruswil has only 7046 inhabitants.
Will pm as the poor bloke probably doesn't want to appear in EF while trying to figure out why he got a strange parcel.
edit: Actually Ruswil is full of Marcels | The following 2 users would like to thank curley for this useful post: | |

If you use a post-card, and large print, instead of a letter in an envelope, perhaps the postie will read it, and get it to the right Marcel.
Separately, write a post-card to the Post Office itself, in Ruswil, and ask them for their help in tracing your parcel. Here, you can enter "Ruswil" to find the physical address of their Post Office. https://places.post.ch/
Pehaps this could help, too: https://www.post.ch/en/sending-parcels/damage-or-loss |

Me, I'd phone rather than write, makes it easier for the recipient. Yes, asking the Post for help is a good idea.

the online name search results typically only shows those who have opted in.
I will try and claim back from the post or the seller

And no harm asking those. It's a small place. They may have namesakes whose numbers are not listed, but know of this really odd story where a parcel suddenly arrived, etc.

It just smells of a fake tracking number fraud by Ebay/Ali sellers. Rarely some dirty sellers ship nothing, pick a tracking number from recent parcels with matching properties (country, weight (if measured) and approximate delivery dates) and stall for time until the customer protection time runs out. Never let it happen and always start a dispute, if the goods is not with you before | Quote: | | | | | That would be defamation based on fake news. | | | | | How is that a defamation, when it is a true fact and is directed exclusively to the allegedly defamed person in a private conversation? Telling a seller, that he, evidently, failed to hire a reliable delivery agent can't count for defamation at any stretch of imagination. And it is irrelevant, why the item was not shipped, whether it is a negligence, actions of third parties or an act of god, since the measure of reliability is the rate of done vs failed tasks, which is in this case 0.

thanks, come to think of it indeed it could be a scam attempt.
I assumed it was my package sent to another address (the post office worker suggested this mistake could have happened at customs with the labelling). But indeed this could also well be a scam attempt from the seller, using the same tracking number they sent to the Marcel person.
The Post were unable to pull a photo of the package, I think only domestic parcels are all scanned where you can see the mailing labels..
I will definitely file a claim
